  1. Well due to the fact that my old box was out of warranty, I decided to fix it myself. Reading up on some things on the web, it wasn't too hard. The hardest part was opening the case. It's security is tighter than the White House. Now I need to figure out how I can best utilize two xboxes.
  2. As a Golf Professional, I can offer a little insight here. Most of what people here are recommending is pretty solid. Brand really has no bearing on quality (at least not at this level). I would typically recommend getting fitted. But since you are so new to the game, I would buy something off the rack (as long as you aren't really tall or short you should be fine). Don't let anyone talk you into getting fitted at this point. Your swing will be nowhere consistent enough to provide solid readings on fitting equipment. What VA recommended with the irons and hybrids is pretty accurate. They will be much easier to hit if they look like this: than if they have no cavity like this: I would recommend getting a driver, but don't spend much (at least 10 degrees of loft). Spend the majority of your search and budget on the irons. As others mentioned, try before you buy. I would stay away from retail (Dicks) outlets and head to a golf course that allows you to test them on the range. Hitting into a net will only tell you how the club feels. Hitting it off real grass and outside can show you a lot more. With the total budget you gave, you could get a really nice used set. I would wait to by a new one until you have grooved your swing a bit more, and then get fitted if you are serious about continuing to play. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Best of luck and happy golfing.
  3. that's pretty cool! nice work! I will let you know if I grab that one! Thanks! If you're looking for something specific, let us know. The reason no one jumped on it right away is because it was very open ended. Ask and you shall receive.

  5. Bear Republic makes great brews. Definitely get the chance to try one if you can.
  6. Planning or recruiting. Which is more important to a coaches success? In my eyes this is sort of a bogus question. The easy out would obviously be that they are equally important and in the end, go hand in hand. Obviously, game planning is a huge part of winning any given game. And in turn, winning games is a huge part of better recruiting. I don’t think there is any coach out there that people consider “good” that isn’t at the very least decent in both attributes. But if I had to chose one, I would choose recruiting. Here’s my reasoning. Take Mack Brown; its hard to argue that he isn’t considered my most to be a good coach and at the very least a “successful” one. While he may dabble a bit in the planing of each game, his primary focus is recruiting and overall leadership. He leaves the majority of planing to the assistant coaches. I’m making this decision based on the fact that the recruiting we are talking about is the number of stars that recruiting sites put next to each players name. If we are instead talking about bringing in guys that fit the mold of the program and what it wants to achieve, that’s a whole new ball game. Really, that is the key. First, someone needs to define what "good recruiter" means. I can assure you that Mr. Callahan was not a good recruiter as he so often gets dubbed. The players never meshed, they didn't respond to the coaches, and overall didn't fit the cultural mold. Bo on the other hand seems to be on the right track whether you want to call him a "good recruiter" or not.
  7. No matter what you do, its going to be pixelated. Unless you have a high resolution photo to start with.
  8. It just doesn't like the file type. Convert it to wmv before importing it and it should work. You can use THIS to convert it.
  9. Any sound? Is it the same screen on all inputs (i.e. DVD, Cable, etc.)?
  10. Any takers? Is this asking too much? I don't want to make it too hard on anyone. I thought you were getting the point. No one likes you. Just kidding. No trouble: Code: [img=http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1281/huskernation20.jpg]
  11. Most of the time its your same unit fixed. depends on who you read. I dont know from firsthand, I'm a PS3 guy and I am unfortunately a first hand guy. (3 times ) Make it 4 times. This time I'm outside the warranty. $99 to get her fixed. I'm thinking I might just crack it open and have some fun. Can I ask where you have your Xbox sitting at? The RoD is an overheating issue. I have had my X for 4 years and have never had an issue with it. But I already was informed of the RoD so I have the X sitting by itself with no other heat sources around it and I have a PC fan blowing air over it. eliot, is there one game that you primarily play? And do you have a decent amount of room on your memory? My suggestion is go through your hard drive and delete data that you dont want anymore, then install your most played game to your hard drive (about 6 GB usually) I did this with COD MW2 so that way when I play the disk doesnt spin, it can read from your harddrive. Its better for your game and the system. Also, what disturbed said, just put it on a flat hard surface by its self.. I appreciate the advice guys, and I am well aware of the issues. The box was by itself without anything around it, and the game I was playing is on the HDD. The Red Ring is not always an overheating issue either. In my case it was hardware failure of some type. $99 to get it repaired or $199 for a new one... decisions, decisions. I just picked up the new one. Lets see how long she lasts. PS: CoD MW2 = Good

  13. They had those my freshman year too.
  14. I was somewhat disappointed in the utilization of McNeil this past year. I hope to see much more in 2010. As for who the O needs most, obviously everyone working as a unit, but the QB position is clearly going to be vital. We can have as much talent around the ball as we want, but if we don't have a QB that steps up and commands the troops, we won't produce squat. The good news is that I think we will have just that. At this point I would have to say that Lee being healthy will allow the coaching staff to put our best QB forward, whoever it ends up being.
  15. Yes sir. Numbers are of course approximate. I got them from many sources.
  16. I believe Nebraska's is March 22 - April 15
  17. The 2010 Spring Game is just around the corner. Tickets for the April 17th event go on sale on February 3rd. Once again college football fans are left with a 7 month void until next August, with spring games offering the only relief for withdraws. I’m sure Nebraska fans will come from every corner of Husker Nation to see what next year brings for our 2010 lineup. Year after year fans pour into Memorial Stadium in springtime just to get a glance of the year to come. Lets see if we can get back that #1 spot. I put together some stats below. They show the approximate numbers from the spring games of some of the most tradition enriched schools between 2006 and 2009. It also shows the team’s preseason rank according to the Coaches Poll if in the Top 25. I just wanted to see if there was a correlation between the two. Bear in mind I think we were ranked 46th preseason in 2008 and we had the largest attendance.
  18. Why are you wearing a shoe on one foot and a flip-flop on the other? I'm gunna feel real bad if you have a prosthetic foot.
  19. My new laptop has W7 and I love it. Much easier to use than XP. I'm a PC and Windows 7 was my idea There's no way that's true!
