  1. What does this mean? RSS moderators and admin was purposely trying to sabatoge recruiting by Bo and the staff for at least the past two years. Emails (internat staff) had been forwarded to UNL indicating their purpose to do this. It's been addressed now. They will no longer talk about coaching status until after recruiting signing date to prevent further issues and to keep them from lying to recruits about it. Pretty hard to have a pay site if it's forced to shut down or in the middle of a slander lawsuit.
  2. Anything the Omaha media is saying that it's until the bowl game is them just trying to save face for being wrong. There is a big backlash starting. Even the RSS boards have been mandated new policy they will follow.
  3. One booster and one regent were quoted. Excellent. I'm glad they're happy with the blowouts, negative attention for our university and the 4 losses every year and never winning anything. Or maybe they like the good things he has done like Team Jack, graduation rates, clean program, turning the program around after BC, 3 championship appearances, team played with tons of heart and fight during a rough year. It probably has more to do with the undeserved extention that Tom gave him after the embarrassment in the CCG. The boosters may want to wait until the $$$$ comes down to a more reasonable number before he is sent packing. I just spent all weekend in Lincoln. It has nothing to do with the money but people understanding the propaganda thats being feed to people. It is done with unless Harvey wants to also be done with his career at Nebraska. There is a reason Daub was quoted but it could have been Pillen or Claire as well along with Hawks. I'm sure Harvey being who he is will continue with crap next year at the first sign of weakness but I was told things are in the works so there will be no doubt Bo will be the coach after the bowl game as long as he still wants to be.

  6. I'm not going to pretend to be some Harvey Perlman advocate, but this is mypoic. The evidence is out there. You're not looking. At all. Don't be lazy. Go do some research before you criticize. Call the university for goodness' sake and ask about their future plans. Google it for goodness' sake. It's not like it's difficult to find. let's see just so we can give Harv the same courtesy as Bo it really doesn't matter whats going on behind the scenes only what's seen in the media which is pretty much his games. He's not doing that well. His wins are hire TO and BIG10 entry (aided by football and TO heavily and if you don't believe that you're not listening to the B10). How's his enrollment growth going? So/so but I remember a presser where he was going to have a huge increase now that we are B10 only to have him state this year he was going to have to change that forecast because it was harder than thought to recruit students to campus. The numbers have increased a little so that's like a hail Mary against NW and doesn't really count as a win and should be considered a loss. Kicked out of AAU. It's not our fault Harvey couldn't convince them to combine all research dollars and fumbled several times there. A loss is a loss as we know the final score is all that matters on this one. Public support for one of the men hiding child rape. Loss. Extension of Pedy and Bills contracts without mitigation clauses. 2 losses. Telling the media and entire athletic department how the ad search would work only to hire someone without consult and pay them 3 times their salary with almost zero experience. Loss. So right now he's 3-5 with his public games. Actually 2-6 because of the hail Mary. Remember we don't get to count GPA stuff, Bowl appearances, championship appearances and the minor stuff in Bo's contract or the off field things like Team Jack so Harv shouldn't get to count increased research dollars and the Valley projects. Neither can we count future plans because that's unknown because as we've seen those can change and not happen. We must only look at the actual public wins and losses. And we won't really even touch on Harvs public perception and ding him for that just like Bo shouldn't be dinged for game emotions. And Harv should just be glad his private convos aren't taped to be leaked. His statements about professors and BOR members aren't very favorable for him either. There's some serious cherry-picking going on here. The bold - how are you drawing any kind of correlations between these things? I did that somewhat tongue in cheek but i can make just as good a case for not having Harv as having him. And with the booster calls and emails being sent the past two weeks to the BOR Harv probably isn't as safe at UNL as his ego would like to believe. The honest truth is we could end up down a head coach and chancellor by years end if this perfect storm brewing happens.

  9. I don't think coaches or players are thin skinned. But if you hear continually that someone is bad, sucks, etc even if it isn't true or its a degree of truth the human mind starts to weaken. You start to question and believe the negative. Its worked in the media all the time to create false perceptions. Just look at our own govt and the perception of the team and coaches here. Your views will be different the further away from Omaha that you get. Its just now starting to trickle out to central Nebraska to the level it has been in Omaha for the past 2 years.
  10. I don't agree with this comment da skers, sorry! I sit with a bunch of family members of players and that is not at all how they feel? Not sure where this sentiment is coming from? Yes, we have bad fans that spew their sh*t now and then but a majority of the fans usually turn to the mouth piece with a look of disappointment and they get the hint. As for the twitter feeds, that is the (faceless fan) who has nothing better to do. This board is a good representation of Husker fans where most everyone wants the best for the program and airs our concerns with some tact. I believe if someone here on this board was to act like one of those (faceless twitter) posters and spewed the kind of comments that you are referring too, knapp and other would show them to the door just as what is done at the stadium? If what you are saying is true for the section you sit in, I am sorry but I don't think it is a representation of much of the fan base but probably a very small %. Its from the locker room. I won't give the names right now because a couple of them are JRs. But follow Bell, Mitchell, Carter, etc on twitter and you will see them questioning adults taking shots. Many of the Texas players past and present feel that way. There was even a time when Rex thought it was getting pretty bad here. Yes some of it has to to when things aren't going well health or playing time wise but then the fans pile on. And its not the objective critics that bother the players. Guys saying Cotton needs to become a better pass blocker, VV has to get in better shape etc. that gets to them. Its the personal attacks. It really started to pick up in the Billy C day and has continued. Niles Paul would probably have told you at one point that he wished the fans would all die. Its a point of frustration and sad they get to that point. Yes there are certain players it doesn't bother or that are in the shadows and they don't get a lot of the hate. There are also some kids that care more about the program and the team than the fans do so they do a damn good sales job about how great it is here. yes and no other teams/staffs have to deal with this sh#t either, right? Didn't say no one else has those issues. But if we're like the Bo hates it doesn't matter what other teams fans are like only ours.

  12. You see I don't have a problem with him being honest in his comment. I don't know how many times I have read on message boards that "All they here is coach speak and blah, blah, blah." When a coach actually says something that is pretty true, some fans don't like it. You can't have everything both ways. The relationship that fans have had with Taylor Martinez had been very love/hate. He was just being honest and you don't like it. The only other QB I think thats had it worse the TM would be Lord. And I'm not even sure he had it as bad a times.
  13. We sell out. But if you've gone to home games this year you know we don't always show up. I would guess the student section will be 1/2 empty Friday. I'll take a picture. I haven't sat in my own seats yet this year but have been to two games and its never felt full. The one I took my girls to (ILL) I had three empties beside me and two right in front. We had lots of extra space.
  14. I agree 100%. But not every fan base claims to be "the greatest" either.

There are lies, damned lies, and statistics. Then there are those statistics that take it to a whole new level of manipulative hilarity.

I'm actually working on something about Bo very much like this. I've done the research and have my spreadsheet made before I even see this. I'll still post my little story, but it kinda sucks someone else did it first.

  15. Odd that after the BOR started receiving letters that HP speaks out a little and he and the AD finally send a response to a few emails to the general public that had been sent days and weeks ago. Maybe they are feeling a touch of heat. It should also say volumes about HPs ego and who is calling the shots that the first comments come from him and not the AD who was given a huge raise to do this job after 6 months of prior experience. If you don't think HP has a complex take an admissions tour at UNL where a large portion is about how awesome our chancellor is. Even the guides appoligise about the video presentations.
  16. Spend some time with the players and their families and many will tell you they are counting down the days they are finished here because of the way fans come at them. If you need proof listen in the stands at the things being said at any game and read the twitter feeds of the players during the games. Our fan base has a large portion of ignorant a$$hole$.
  17. We should end up with Mizzou or Texas. That should do just fine. (Assuming we beat Iowa.)
  18. Some jackball was trying to state that Sipple's 7.8 million number was wrong (if bo was fired) because the last public contract had it end in 2016. MS showed a copy he obtained to clarify that number for him.
  19. Two guys from Iowa were walking along when they saw a dog licking his balls, one said i wish i could do that!! the other said, you dumbass he would bite you!
  20. Probably between 3 and 4 million after he gets a new job.
  21. Your hatred for harvey is nearing Hedley's hatred for Bo. What gives? I don't care for people who say one thing to your face and then do another when you leave the room.
  22. It was a 2 yr extension. It's pretty standard for coaches to have 5 yrs on a contract as a rule. I believe, It also has a mitigation clause in it so if he's fired we owe him the pay minus any pay he gets from a new job. So the almost 8 million is reduced. TO also protected the athletic department. It really doesn't change anything other than add another 1.5 million to the buyout if HP decides to fire him. And as I stated before, with B10 money that isn't a very big deal anymore. It doesn't mean Bo is safe today where he wasn't yesterday.
  23. So Bo did resign... I might be wrong, but I'm guessing scbhusker meant "re-signed," as in Bo signed again, instead of "resigned" as in Bo quit. That still doesn't explain why we gave a coach an extension after he led the team to one of the most embarrassing blowouts of this century. It doesn't seem like TO would act against NU's best interests just to spit in Perlman's eye. This Severe guy says he got a copy through a Freedom of Information Act request. TOs 6 th year is when the fans got so bad he almost went to CU. perhaps he knew something about how important it was to have some security since there would be a new AD and Bo wouldn't have the same type of assurances that he himself had under Bob Devaney.
  24. And if I'm not mistaken this contract is longer than HPs current one and past an expected retirement date that is looking more and more like it will be enforced rather than extended by the BOR. It would be nice to know 100% that this is a real document. I have my doubts still.
