Recruiting Class of 2017 Already Getting Jersey Numbers
TJ Alum Husker replied to Mavric's topic in Husker Football
I never thought of him as one of the best, but to each their own... really??!! I have watched most of the greats, and all of them since 1967, and I am not alone when I say he is in the conversation for the top 3 RB's of all time at DONU -
Good info. Thanks. But I think his arm strength is just fine. He seems to be able to are all of the throws necessary.

Oklahoma

It's only a highlight reel, but his is the first guy that to me throws like a real quarterback. If the staff can bring him along we absolutely got a steal

DPE's replacement in the slot when he graduates -
I know what you are saying but I see it as a positive (more base). Linebackers are hitters and tacklers. Corners aren't wired to do that as much. They are skinnier and built differently. It's also easier for the secondary to make a half-try tackle attempt against a back running with steam coming at you or in space. If you have to do it a lot in a game I think the secondary gets mentally tired of it. Let the big boy linebackers make the hits on the RBs and TEs in coverage. The corners can be a step behind to help swarm. Instead of seeing an offense sustain long drives against our defense, gashing them with runs that keep drives going, it will be better to cut it in half and get the D off the field more often. If a team is going to throw a lot then you have quality nickel packages. In the B1G teams are more run heavy so that shouldn't be a big fear. I thought of this too, and editeD I'm with all of you on this but I hope the LB's can run because if not our D will be exposed quickly

He was a running back playing QB

Moved him to receiver or rb where he belonged all along

What about Mike Stuntz?? What about Mike Stuntz?? What about Mike Stuntz?? Dave Humm says hello

I wish him well. He is taking a big risk given Fedora's standing and record. I feel for the kids thougo. 5 coaches in 6 years really stunts their development

I believe MR has used some vague and nebulous terms such as "soon" when discussing the position...........I would guess that our mutual understanding of that term might not extend that far out...........but.....only MR knows.....I'm going to guess we know sometime this week..... You kind of have to get it done. Preferable by Thursday when the dead period ended. Otherwise you are recruiting 1 coach down Makes you wonder if he was turned down and had to go to plan b or c -
LB Transfer Kaiwan Lewis being targeted - Chooses Rutgers

Take the one year known quantity and take the 5 year project next year. I think this tells you how thin we are. Sign several HD LB's but also take someone who can come in and play at a high level right away. -
Agree. I am. Not an expert on technique but this guy flies to the ball and hits aggressively
-
I really like this guy's video. Shows some burst. Goes up to get the ball and catches with his hands. Could run better routes but you see flashes there so it is fixable. This guy could be a steal for us
-
Yep. I was thinking the same thing. Good lateral speed but I kept waiting for him to thump someone.
-
This guy plays with aggressiveness. He hits at full speed and tackles through the ball carrier. Get him!

Well we have seen HC's hiring their friends before at good ol' NU. Billy C comes to mind! I really do hope we're not witnessing BC part Duex. I want NU to succeed and do well.. I think I would rather have an all star coaching staff that recruits well as apposed to the nicest coach in the county and his good friends...Sometimes an all star big name staff can be problematic. Probably why there are so few(Bama) around. There needs to be a clear line of authority and egos need to be sacrificed with all star staffs. I was hoping for maybe one big name, was hoping at DC, but I'm fine with trying it this way. I think Riley can coach and once again it will be about recruiting. I do like that he surrounding himself with younger staff members as well as minority hires. Diversity seems to be checked off my list for his staff. Now let's get in these kids living rooms and sell sell sell. Just get good coaches. Who cares how old/young they are or what color their skin is? I certainly don't, actions speak far louder than anything else. agree. who cares if they are friends/relatives/enemies or whatever. If they are good coaches that should be enough

increasing the scholies above 85 would benefit the power schools at the detriment of the middle tier schools. I don't think I would be for it. I like the parity.
