  1. 38 wins in 4 years.... That is all....
  2. Cactusboy, True or not, it is ridiculous to not let a HC replace a DC struggling on an epic level....I think that is what everyone has bee n trying to get at....
  3. I'm not blaming Keller, infact I admire him for his support of the team after his injury.... However, proof is inthe pudding, wGanz was obviously the better QB, no matter the system.....Keller was a decent QB but never looked comfortable while at Nebraska....
  4. Six points against Missouri, 14 against Okie Lite, and 14 against Texas A&M. Offense definitely wasn't the problem that year, but those three games were still pathetic performances. Cactusboy, you're quite clearly ignorant to the Bill Callahan era, and there's truly no nicer way to say it. The state was divided and in an uproar, our players flat out gave up on the season, there was little unity and the program was in shambles. There is no bone in my body that things Callahan remaining on as HC would have been a good thing. All that "talent" brought in was underutilized and poorly developed, and there's absolutely no argument to be made against that. You're just wrong. Flat out, undeniably, inconceivably wrong about this. Colorado 65-NU 51 bring back any memories? Yes it does.... Don't bring it up again....
  5. I will go to my grave disagreeing with this. Keller was the better option for the offense we intended to run when the decision had to be made in August. Of course, the day Keller came in he was going to be declared the starter and everyone knew that, but he was better for the offense Callahan had in mind. Ganzy came in after Keller's injury and lit it up, but they changed things for him, adapted what they were doing to suit his skills, and basically let it all hang out. There are a lot of things I'll fault Callahan for, but the decision to start Keller won't be one of them. That was a decent football decision. This I definitely agree with. I have no problem with Bill Callahan the person, or the position coach. He just wasn't a good fit here. Doesn't make him evil, just wrong for the job. He was in need of a job, and he was put in a tough position by his need for a job and an idiot Athletic Director. I respectfully disagree with you on this one...You go with the guy who is going to give you the best chance of winning, and if Ganz is that guy (obviously he was) then you go with him and adjust the system accordingly, if necessary.... If Callahan had the ability to adjust the system for Ganz, then he should have went with Ganz to begin with.... In my opinion the Keller had the starting job before he ever competed in practice against Ganz.... There was a definitive difference between the performances of Keller, and Ganz, and given that much of a difference in talent/performance you shouldn't let the system stop you from starting the right guy at QB....
  6. He has to work on his throw mechanics, and footwork ( Captain Obvious right?).... The staff and Martinez act as if they are not an issue, and they are... I have also never seen a guy who is so fast, but lacks any ability to be elusive.... Fuller seems to have both, not to mention better mechanics, and accuracy.... based off of a highlight anyways....
  7. I hope the coaches haven't moved on. They told DF when they visited him that he was their #1 priority on the recruiting trail. IMO you don't give up on someone who is your #1 priority. Hopefully they can show him that we have a lot to offer to him if he comes and plays at NU. The way Taylor has progressed as a passer this year should be really encouraging to him. I am a Martinez supporter, but in no way is Taylor "as a passer" encouraging.... Maybe encouraging to Fuller, because he is already a better passer then Martinez, but encouraging to HuskerNation....No.... I'm just saying Taylor this year went from a totally incompetent passer to being able to throw a really good ball. He progressed ten-fold from where he was at the beginning of the season. That's all I'm saying. I guess I don't see the same thing you see.... No doubt Martinez has progressed "Some" as a passer, but also he has took a step back as a running threat.... Just watched Fuller's video again, and I am not sure he wouldn't take Martinez's job right away.... Kid looks like a STUD!!

  9. Is there a replay of this game.... What channel was it on....
  10. Charts like that crack me up, but I get your point about the networks/media aiming to please favorable markets.... I know, it doesn't seem like there'd be any accuracy to this given the size of the populations and at any rate it kind of comes off as a little too in depth for something as petty as football but it is what it is. Anyhow, I think anyone that's spent time in South knows the truth behind the point the NYT argued somewhat awkwardly in its article and that chart. College football is just a different animal in SEC country. As a whole, I would agree with you on the South.... personal bias included, nobody loves their college football like the great people of Nebraska....
  11. Which is hard to do since they schedule four schools of the blind deaf and dumb as their OOC and don't leave the South during the season including the Bowl games. That isn't mentioning that they are allowed to cut players like the NFL and recruit over the max allowed by the NCAA. Right now they have the perfect storm going on and it sucks. Both Auburn and USC played Clemson. Bama went up to Penn State. Arkansas took on A&M, UGA took on Boise. LSU took on WVU and Oregon and the list goes on and on and on. NU scheduled who? Wyoming, Washington, Chattanoga and Fresno? and that's not meant to pick on NU...UW played an even worse OCS...I just don't know that's a really fair point except when attacking Florida who is pretty guilty of it. The Big-XII has played pretty fast and loose with over signing in a manner quite similar to the SEC. I wonder why we hear so little about it? Maybe because they can't win a NC? Over-signing is not near as large a problem with other conferences, the SEC takes the cake there, and I believe that it has had a minimal impact on their conference's success.... With the Big XII its actually pretty damn close Well I came to damn close to defending the Big 12 with my last post, and nobody here wants to do that....Sooooo....

  14. I was just relaying how I thought that the announcers for the game acted, I was not surprised by the results at all.... However, the ACC is a joke.... I agree that the SEC is the best conference, but they are over-hyped by most people....
  15. Whoops, you have to hate it when facts get in the way of "The Nebraska Way" myth. It is still amazing what T.O. did with those recruiting classes.... Mack Brown gets a top 3 class every year, and struggles to get into a decent bowl game....
  16. Marrow maybe? I think it's Jay Guy....
  17. Why would you even say that? No way Huskers go 12-1 with no Burkhead next year.... My Bold Prediction/ Gut feeling: I think our defense might be better next year despite the key losses, just because we all seem to think that another step back on defense is more likely.... Proving once again, that we don't know what we're talking about....
  18. Is it official, or is this your assumption because of all the talk of him being a Nebraska lean?
  19. I can't imagine us wearing them down unless we gash them with 6-7 yard runs early and often.... If we get 2-3 yards a carry and have to throw, there defense won't be on the field long enough to get worn down by our rushing attack.... Let's hope Burkhead gets loose on them early....
  20. You realize that SC has an All American DE in Melvin Ingram, and Freshman All American DE in Jadevon Clowney. I'm not sure attacking the ends is the best plan. attacking a strength is how you find out if its really a strength or if its from playing weak SEC offenses.... Weak SEC offenses? Haha are you serious? If anyone has anything to prove on either side of the ball against the other conference its us not the SEC. They only appear weak in conference play because the defenses are so good, look at what happens when a team like say...LSU who was held to so few points against Bama plays outside the conference. They bust all over opponents' faces. I get it, you guys are coming from a conference that was big on offense and seemed like it barely recruited kids on defense but don't assume the SEC is the opposite simply because they don't score as much in conference play. The SEC is a good (probably slightly the best) conference in the country, but the rest of the country, especially the media, acts as if they are untouchable.... The top of the SEC (2-3 teams) is better then any other conference in the country, but Top-to-Bottom the SEC is vastly overrated.... Look at the Miss. St. vs. Wake Forest game last night.... The announcers could barely hide their surprised reactions to the fact that Miss. St. wasn't destroying a lowly ACC team.... Alabama, and LSU are the best teams in the country, but after that the rest of the conference is very average.... It wasn't just the vaunted SEC defenses that made the SEC offenses look bad.... I won't go as far as to say that they aren't any good, but the Big 12 offenses are much better then most offenses in the SEC.... The SEC is the best conference in the country, but the gap between them and the Big Ten/Big 12/Pac-12 isn't as large as some want to pretend it is....
  21. It seems to me that his heart says Nebraska, but he thinks ND might give him s better shot at the NFL....
  22. Anything new, aside from the tweet....
  23. Tickets could be rough to get on gameday....
