  1. Why is that? We have zero DCs now...what would make him a Co-DC at Nebraska? Or are you just saying that Bo is hands-on enough with the D that Stoops wouldn't have complete and 100% control so that would make him Co? Sharing some responsibilities with the Head Coach isn't quite the same as having the title of Co-DC. No. Like as in he'll be sharing duties with JP. I know you know a lot more about this than I do and I can only guess that you're eluding to something you know. But why would we structure it to have JP and Stoops on the same level as Co-DC's? Seems very out of balance to me. Or is the plan to, knowing Stoops will only be around for a year or two, have him mentor JP in the role so that when Stoops leaves, JP is in place to handle it by himself? You sir, answer your own questions a lot....
  2. I'm not a scientist but I'm pretty sure that analogy doesn't make sense. I'm simply trying to illustrate the sort of logic being used in the arugment. If you find it shaky then we agree on something. He was saying that your illustration didn't make sense. Well I'm sorry but I think it does. I've made everypoint I think I can make. The evidence shows Ball is one of the best RB's to play CFB, Rex won't be remembered in a few years from now by anyone but Huskers...and thats the way it is. I'm done. You are drinking the koolaid if you think Ball is one of the best backs to ever play.... Not even close, he would have to do a lot more....Rex won't be remembered in a few years?.... Outside of a few cheeseheads, neither will Ball....
  3. One doesn't simply compete with Barry Sander's record just by having really good players around him. Ball is still a really good player. Here's a question I pose for debate. Was Ball a Heisman candidate in the wrong season, or are people just not overtly impressed with him? He rushed for twice as many touchdowns and 200+ more yards than Ingram did when he won the Heisman. Yet, Ball finishes fourth in the ballots. And Ingram wasn't exactly going up against bad candidates in 2009. BadgerFan won't agree, but those TD numbers are misleading, and Sanders played 12 games.....So yeah....
  4. The question isn't who had the better season. Clearly, that would be Monte Ball; the question is who would you take if the circumstances (QB play, line play, etc.) were the same. And while Ball is a great, fantastic player; I would take Rex Burkhead, without question. I feel the need to point out again, that I think Ball is a GREAT player.

  6. Haha, I've noticed that as well. At this point it is a success if it doesn't get locked.
  7. Really?? I don't dislike the guy, but I didn't see any reason (dback play) to "like" him either....
  8. Yep...it's already starting on one of their message boards: "I would expect to see Phil Parker promoted but the fact that Mike Stoops hasn't taken a job at Ohio State, Nebraska, or any of the other schools trying to get him makes me wonder. Should be interesting to see how this plays out." "I hope we can get Stoops but I'm prepared to be disappointed by an internal hire." Sound familiar! Did you just compare us to Iowa?
  9. Got my Resume ready....Just in case
  10. Oh boy, what did I miss :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh
  11. Both Universities should be greatly embarassed by what took place on that court tonight. The brawl in itself was ridiculous, but the press conference afterwards is what is disturbing. Players bragging about being so called 'gangsters'....Really? Is that something to be proud? Promoting violence is bad enough, and if I was an African-American I would be upset about the possible enhancement of the stereotype of the black male.... Its a sad story all around....But I do like how Cincinnati handled the press conference afterwards...
  12. Ball is fantastic, but his TD stats are VERY misleading....
  13. Severe said Burkhead made the first guy miss sometimes...Really?? I can't think of more then a couple times he didn't make the first guy miss....
  14. Yes. Yes he is. Exactly....Wait I didn't say that.... I must admit, I live out of state so don't listen often, but that comment is ridiculous..... HE ACTS LIKES IT NOT EVEN CLOSE (Yes I'm yelling)....
  15. Exactly, Burkhead is one of the best RBs in the country, with an average OLine. It blew my mind that Severe thought it was a no-brainer when Sipple brought it up. Aside from Trent Richardson, Burkhead is 2nd to none in this country.
  16. Mike'l Severe on Unsportsmanlike Conduct just said that he thought that Montee Ball was WAAAAYYY better then Burkhead (This was after Sipple suggested he wasn't). Montee Ball had that 30+ TDs, but a lot of those were from the goal-line. Like McKweon tweeted a week or so ago. Ball did nothing (Goal-line TDs), that 20 other backs in the country couldn't do. You give me a choice between Ball, and Burkhead. Give me Burkhead everytime.
  17. Good point about the Michigan situation. I haven't been a fan of Bo's hires either (although Beck seems to be catching on). It would benefit Bo greatly to add veteren assistants to his staff, I'll never understand why he doesn't do so. I knew we'd see eye-to-eye on something.
  18. I don't disagree with you, but remember, Crick didn't play much of the season, Merideth got FAT and we had other injuries that in some games (NW) we only had 4-5 guys the entire game. They did drop off, but don't forget about "circumstances". Crick did get injured, but the play wasn't great with him. Meredith did seem to get bigger, but I thought he was our best performer on the DLine this year. The future looks good. I was impressed with Rome, Ankrah, and Steinkuhler was probably our best Line player the last few weeks. You are right, the lack of depth late in the year didn't help any.
  19. No, not at all. I think Suh's positive/negative gauge is still WAAAY positive. That idiot from Fox news was writing schlock to drive hits to her story, and there can't be five people in the world that think she was on the money. But with the guy from LJS, it's clear there is a sentiment that something is wrong with Suh. And he's not exactly working hard to dispel that notion. He made his intentions clear very early, when he talked about "getting after the QB" or something like that. Up to the point of kicking, I had no problem with any of his play (the Cutler penalty was ridiculous). It does seem that there is that sentiment out there, but it seems off base to me. He is the baddest guy on the field ALWAYS, I just think he needs to contain himself to proving it between the whistles. I would imagine that this latest incident will get Big Suh's attention.
  20. Bo will call the defense from here on, and I'm sure he did plenty this year. I have stated in other posts, that the coach that I question most is JP. He took over coaching the DLine this year, and the play dropped off considerably, with the same players as 2010.
  21. Losing control of a car is stupid? I doubt the wreck was intentional. Receiving bad publicity for this is ridiculous, it was a car accident, and he wasn't impaired, so there is no issue. I saw on the journal star blog, where one of the writers wondered if the Lions were starting to consider if Suh was worth his trouble. Are you kidding me?? He single handedly changed the attitude, and direction of that football team. I think the loss of respect thing is valid. I know I am beginning to be concerned about how his behavior reflects on Nebraska. Articles like the one written by that hack chick from Fox sports the other day are a great example. I don't give her ANY credence whatsoever, but lots of folks outside Nebraska do. And the LJS guy who wrote that question about the Lions losing faith in Suh was written by a guy who just came to the paper from Idaho, another outsider to the culture of Nebraska. Those questions are out there and they are legit. And they exist because of Suh's actions. But do you actually believe the Lions are having those thoughts? With the level he has played I can't imagine that crossing their minds. The media, of course they are going to tear him down best they can (especially outside of Nebraska), but making him out to be public enemy #1 is absurd, in my opinion. I would agree that some of his "on-field" actions are putting a minimal/short-lived negative reflection on Nebraska, but some of the coverage has been overblown. The difference in opinons on the matter, from media, and former players is telling. I know that some players have lashed out at him, but there has been a number of them that have taken up for him in a big way (aside from the kicking thing). Admittedly, I laughed on Thanksgiving, I didn't have a problem with the "rubbing of face into ground" part, but the kicking was crossing the line a bit, but not to the extent that some think. Even little ol' Greeny off of Mike n Mike in the morning came to Suh's defense....

  23. Agree. So not only can we have the circle jerk of 2 SEC teams playing each other for the championship, we can now just go ahead and crown 2 SEC teams as champs. Need to go on a few carpet bombing runs down south. f#*k playoffs. Amen! Playoffs...pffftt.....so let's assume LSU beats Bama again...ok they've more than earned it right? I'd give LSU a share of the title if Bama beat them by 3-7 on a neutral field. But say we had a playoff. You'd be forcing LSU to win 2 more games to prove they are the best. That's fair. Either give OSU a shot at em or just hand em the crown. Anyone think it's fair that Wisconsin is in the Rose Bowl despite 2 losses? If this were last season without the CCG (playoff game), Mich st would be on their way to Pasedena with one loss. CCG's are a joke...a money making ploy...no different than a playoff. It's just to make more high profile games for more dollars. So people whining about a playoff creating the true champion and "fairness" don't realize that there never will be a perfect system. It's nothing but personal preference and Dbags like Dan Wetzel constantly bitch about playoffs and the BCS ALL DAMN SEASON AND OFFSEASON and use ONLY the convenient facts that support their arguments! Jeez what a tirade...I'm done. I just don't think you should be able to lose your last game of the year, and be crowned champ. The argument that Bama "had their chance" is ridiculous in my opinion. With one undefeated, you have to compare losses, and Bama has the best loss, easily....
  24. I think it would be worth mentioning that the loss came days after the tragedy that happened at OK st., and that had to affect them on some level. Personally, I was all for the rematch (Bama vs. LSU) before last night, but OK St. did exactly what they had to do to be considered, blow OU out of the water..... OK. St. made a great case for themselves, but I think it will still be the rematch, and it probably should be. The BCS guy on ESPN said it would be the closest margin between 2 and 3, since the current BCS formula has been in place (2004). It should be interesting to say the least.....
