  1. Not sure where you have been but Taylor is known for having a strong arm and can make difficult throws.
  2. As far as Boise State goes play someone good in a non-conference game already. They screw themselves by not going after the big boys. Who wants to play a Boise State? A Top tier Team that if you beat you get zero credit for. It is a losing situation regardless of the outcome. The risk - Reward factor of playing Boise State makes it a bad team to schedule.
  3. Huskers had the momentum. They were moving the ball well so far and the Black Shirts had been shutting them down. Was way to early and at a bad position on the field to try that. Plus it wasn't needed. Auburn also had to much speed for that reverse to work. The pitch was bad because of pressure. there was also a 2nd Auburn player in the backfield who most likely would have made the tackle if it was a good pitch. Bad Call, All coaches make them at some time during their careers.
  4. Keller is better than Taylor. Beck wouldn't have started if he stayed. It was a possibility he would have stayed at #3 on the depth chart behind Ganz.
  5. Osbourns Offense wasn't based entirely on the option. It was more based on the Power Running game and Misdirection/Counter stuff. The Option and Pass was something they mixed in.
  6. OOOOOkay........???? I don't think I ever became unrelaxed!!!! I was just saying that people tend to want to live in the past constantly and talk about the days when we stomped everyone and those days are gone and are never going to come back. With the limits put on teams for scholorships you can't load a team up like you used to..................so YOU relax!!!! IMO it won't work........try running the option at Auburn and see how well it would work............their defense is way to fast and in today's college football world the defensive ends and linebackers are way to fast for the option. Give me one good team that runs the option effectively in today's game??? Florida is in the National Championship game and runs the option. Do they count as a good Team? I have seen 8 or 9 ranked Teams run an option this season.
  7. I have never heard or read another Coach say the option will not work. I have only heard Media and general fans claim it. The 80's they were saying it about Osbourns Offense. Was the same arguement about speed.
  8. Some non conference games are set. All the schedules can be accessed at the bottom of the page from the link above. OOC games are setup between Athletic Directors. How many years down the road depends on how far in advance the Athletic Director wants to Schedule and who he can make a deal with.
  9. Colorado and Michigan were not top tier Teams last year. I think that is what he was getting at. They were good wins but would not compare to a win over Auburn.
  10. IMHO, You can expect 75% - 80% of the stadium wearing red. Maybe someone can post a pic of the Stadium when Nebraska played at Notre Dame to give him an idea.
  11. When your Defense gives up only 14 points and gets you great field position all game, you should win. The Offense didn't get the job done.
  12. I want to play the best Team available. If you want to be the best, you must compete against the best.
  13. The Defense gave up 14 points. They shut OU down and gave the Offense great field position all night. How many times did the D give the Ball to the Offense around the 50 yard line?
  14. I don't complaign but I do remember being 17+ point dogs in 93,94 and 95 NC Games. 93 lost to FSU on a missed FG in a game that was contraversial. 1 year later were 17 point dogs again against Miami in a game the Huskers won 1 year after winning a NC and coming close the year before that, Huskers again were 17+ Dogs to Florida in a game they ran away with. The Media gave the Huskers no chance and spoke a lot about how these Passing offenses would score at will and the Defenses would shut down the 1 dimensional Cornhuskers. Some of it is true but it isn't as bad as what is posted on the boards.
  15. He was moved to 3 differant postions 4 times in 1 year at Nebraska. He has played RB, Safety and WR for Nebraska. If he stayed at RB the entire time, he would have been in the mix this season. He should have Redshirted his freshman year rather than play Special Teams. No good deed goes unpunished.
  16. Bring in Air Force. They have every sport so it will help the other sports in the Big 12.
  17. Oklahoma fans are educated about Football. They are a much differant fan than Colorado has. The Buff fans have no clue about Football and do nothing to get educated about it. They don't even know that CU was running a differant offense against us than they ran all season.
  18. A lot depends on Bowman. How he recovers and if he stays. If Bowman comes back 100% things will be good. Grixby and Jones should improve some and be capable of handling the #2 corner spot. Remember, they don't get good help Shanle at Safety. Safety is the place I worry about the most next year.
  19. Why bring up Solich? I am pretty sure he has some wins against Ranked Teams considering he did play for the NC and had another Team that many believed should have played for it and was the best Team in the Country. The Head Coach doesn't usualy close the majority of the recruits. It is usualy an assistant. Blake is the closer at Nebraska now and has done a great job. Osborne's Staff wasn't known for being a great recruiting staff. They were known for developing talent, especialy out of walkons. The dogging of Solich is getting old. It's been 3 years since he left. He has took one of the worse teams in their conferance and has them at 9-3 and playing for the conferance championship in his 2nd year. He'll be Coaching in a BCS conf again if he chooses too. My guess would be at a Big East or Big 10 School.
  20. How long do you think his records will hold up? My guess is 5 years max. If Navy switched to the west coast, their first pro style QB that starts 2 years would hold all their passing records too. I predict all Nebraska single season passing records will be broke next year. Didn't Taylor just break or is close to breaking Tommy Fraziers career passing TD record? Frazier was a option QB that had 3 years of starts.
  21. And what like 11 national championships? He hasn't done anything close enough to have his name mentioned with the players on that list. Times sure have changed in Lincoln. I remember when the doal was to win the National Championship every year. That started with Devaney. Now people talking about retiring a Jersey of a QB that went 8-3 and won the north division. If they win out including a BCS Bowl, I don't see ZT getting his Jersey retired. How many QB's from Nebraska loss 3 or fewer games?
  22. Gobbs is safe for one more year than his contract is up and he will retire. No way Schnieder fires Gibbs. Schnieder is a long time Skins fan and firing Gobbs would be like firing Osbourne. Saunders is expected to take over after Gibbs retires at the end of next season.
  23. 1.7 Million in Lincoln = 3 Million in the DC Area
  24. 2 Posters from same part of Iowa who joined the site on the same day were talgating with Bowman...Yeah OK. Mods should run an IP check
  25. Like it or not. The Standards have been set. A Coach was fired for not keeping up to those standards. How can you beleive we are back when they are having the same type of seasons the fired coach was? This is the Standard. It is time to get there again.
