  1. They were running a Double Wing on that last drive and it worked.
  2. Is he getting it out of the Offense? Is that all they got? He isn't just a DC anymore, He is now a Head Coach. He is responsible for getting the best out of every player on the Team. Not just the Defense. It is Bo's responsibilty to fix the OL penalty problems now. If Cotton and Watson can't get it done, than Bo needs to step in and either find someone on the staff who can or do it himself. If Cotton can't get this fixed. Bo will need to look for a new OL Coach if he wants to ever Challenge for a National Championship.
  3. 8/9 in the Box never slowed down Dr Toms Teams. If the other Teams front is better than our line, I can live with that. The fact that the Penalties every game over and over killing drives. That is what bothers me about Cotton. Also this OL doesn't have any killer instinct. They don't seem to have any fire in them. You can see it when they break the huddle. That fire just isn't there. They don't even hustle to the line.
  4. I like what the Coaching staff has done so far with the program overall but I think they really need to consider an upgrade at OL Coach. Way to many Drive ending Penalties. The run blocking is average at best. The pass Blocking isn't but but could be better. Overall the OL isn't consistant and commits way to many penalties.
  5. got Rush? Seems the only reason half of America believes that is they don't form their own opinions after listening to or reading an unbiased report. Don't listen to Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, or Keith Olbermann. None of them say one thing without an agenda. Some don't know what the definition of Socialism is.... I do agree that race has something to do with what people think of the President, but not a large percentage of people base their opinions on that fact alone or at all. Has nothing to do with Rush. When the Federal Gov is buying chunks of private businesses (GM/Chrysler & Banks) That is socialism at its purest form. When someone has said they want a single gov run health care system, that is again Socialism. You are right, some don't know the Definition of socialism. So here it is off of webster, so you will know. Main Entry: so·cial·ism Pronunciation: \ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm\ Function: noun Date: 1837 1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods 2 a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state 3 : a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done
  6. Our President is a guy that has no experience. Has took a 500 Billion dollor deficit and turned it into Trillions and is pushing a Socialist agenda. But the only reason half of America doesn't like him is because of his Race? Keep in mind How Obama won the election. He got votes from groups that usually do not vote. African Americans and College Kids. Would Obama have won if he was white, asian or hispanic?
  7. How u figure we move up when we don't even play? Hell, the Huskers don't move up when we win. The pollster buttheads hate Nebraska. That should be obvious. The Huskers could have run the table and STILL not play for the NC. I would be willing to bet the farm on that... Any Team runs the Table in the Big XII would go to the NC Game. Especially if they had a OOC Win over a Top 10 Team.
  8. I don't get the Black thing. Black isn't the Schools colors. 2 Teams in the North already wear black. Do we want the Buskers to Look like Texas Tech? Because that is what it will look like.
  9. #10 - You don't understand what Nebraska was doing on Defense. The Pass rush wasn't there because they were playing containment. They did an outstanding job of it to. If you watched the VT game last year, you should know that Taylor Ran all over them because the Huskers went after him and created running lanes. This is where Taylor is a weapon. Taylors weakness is sitting in the pocket and throwing. Lee? I have a feeling he did hurt his hand. If he did, he should have told the coaches or the coaches if they knew should have pulled him when he couldn't hit an open reciever. I know our Freshman doesn't know many plays but what good is a QB that can't execute because of injury?
  10. Yes, he had the TD. Nothing will come of it though as the game is done and over. The reason it should be a TD is because the rule states when you come down you must maintain control. When his 2nd knee hit in bounds I might add, he had control. At that point the play should be blown dead. Anything after that should not matter. The other factor is that any time the ball is cross the goal line in control, it is a TD and play is dead at that moment.
  11. My concerns are 1) Using up Time Outs. They shouldn't need to call a Tome Out in 2nd and 10 situations. 2) Not using the Run game on 2nd and Goal from the 3. 3) Penalties from the OL. At some point you have to sit a Kid down that contiues to Hold and False start. The 4th and 1 punt is a tough call and can be argued both ways. Your Defense has shut them down all day, so I understand the call. At the same time you have an opportunity to put the game away if you go for it and get it. One call has greater reward but more risk than the other.
  12. Some are falling in to what is called T-Ball mode. It's ok, you tried your best. If you want the Huskers to be average every year, than this attitude might work. But there is a good chance that it will result in not even being average over time. If a Team wants to become a Championship Caliber Program, than it isn't OK. It isn't OK not to finish a Team off. It isn't OK to let a Team stay in a game when you have a Knife to their throat over and over. The Coaching Staff and the Players have to make a Choice. Is it OK or Not. That choice will determine the future of this program.
  13. Again, you need to keep control of the ball when you hit the ground for it to be a catch. Whether the knee was in bounds and the foot out or vice versa. I believe it's rule 2 section 2 article 7 point 2: "Loss of ball simultaneous to returning to the ground is not a catch, interception or recovery." If you guys want to b!tch about a blown call, how about the hold on the previous play when McNeill caught his TD...? I am not arguing that. I believe he had control when his knee hit and that he didn't lose control until out of bounds which was after he already had made the catch and was down. I do not believe it was simultaniously.
  14. His Knee was in bounds. He had one foot in than his knee came down in bounds. He lost possation when his arm and ball hit after that. It was a bad call. Should have been reviewed.
  15. He had an outstanding game than steps up and takes blame because of one play he feels he could have played better on.
  16. Dude...it's absolutely un-f'ing-believable how much of a meltdown this board is in. We played well in a very hostile stadium against a good VaTech team. You'd think we just lost to App St or something. That isn't good enough. Bo is right, they have to finish Teams off. They had it 2nd and goal from the 3 and left the field with 3. They had 1st and Goal and left the field with a punt. To win games like this, you have to be able to deliver a Knock Out punch in those situations.
  17. Suh "Looking back at the last play, I had a chance to pressure him more and I hesitated"
  18. Come on.....How many Coaches can you put in the likes of Dr Tom?
  19. http://www.justin.tv/myhokiesbaby
  20. The Only time I bet on Nebraska was the National Championship games and the year they lost to Florida State 93?. I could not pass up getting 17 points those years.
  21. I like that our OL is improved and experianced. I like that Helu is quick, can cut on a dime and quickly get the ball going north/south I like that Lee has a strong arm, accurate and is athletic enough to take off down field if needed. I Like that our wide recievers can all catch and stretch the field. I like our TEs especially against VT LBs in man coverage. I like that Lee can spread the Ball around I Like that Suh is probably the best DT in the Country I like that Dillard gets to play and gives us some experiance at LB I like our entire secondary I like that VT best CB is coming off a injury and might not be able to play more less 100% if he does. I like that VT is one dimensional and only completes 50% of their passes. I like that we have a Kicker that can hit from 50+ I like that we have a Kicker that sends it through the endzone. I like that Lane Stadium will see the largest visiting crowd in its history. So this is why I like Nebraskas chances.
  22. But in 96 Nebraska was faster than Florida and any other Team out there. Even though they were the Defending National Champs, The Media still believed Nebraska was Big and Slow. What they never picked up on was the reason Nebraska turned the corner was speed. They switched to the 4-3 simular to what Florida State was running and recruited more speed. McBride and Osbourn visited Florida State in the off season several times to learn their Defense. Bowden use to come to Nebraskas Coaching Clinic every year. Osbourn and Bowden were close friends and exchanged a lot of information.
  23. So we have to pay to talk football with Hokie Fans? How Many Husker Fans do you think will get in the stadium? It isn't as hyped up as when we took over Notre Dames Stadium and had more fans there but we still travel better than anyone else I have seen oe heard of. That's because that's the public board, we have a paid subscribers board. This way we can keep the idiot out haha. As far as noise in Lane Stadium goes, this sums it up best... "I don't care what you saw on TV or YouTube; words cannot describe what was taking place. The stadium was literally shaking. My ears hurt. And even as a lowly photographer, I was absolutely terrified, and the game hadn't even started. It was the most unbelievable display of fanhood I had ever witnessed, in professional or amateur sports." -Boston College Photographer - 2007 BC game ...I was at that game, it was pretty accurate as far as a description goes...
  24. VT Fans claim they are a lot Quicker than Nebraska. Anyone know the stats?
  25. They are still making a BIG stink about, even on the free board over there. They don't know how to use a message board though. Majority of their posts are one liners in the subject and nothing written inside when you click the link. They don't talk much football there either. Mostly about Drinking and getting loud. You won't find any X's and O's threads or keys to the game type stuff.
