  2. I know especially now, after such a hard lost nobody really cares but I just wanted to share this. Before today the last time Nebraska lost it's opening game was on a hot day in 1985 to Florida State, the first game played after the birth of my younger brother. Four years earlier Nebraska loses it's first game of the year and of my life by fumbling away it's opening season game against Iowa. I had a life long hatred of Iowa that I never could quite explain until I found this out in my early teens. Four years before that, Nebraska loses it's opening game against Alabama, the first game played after my wife was born. Today's game was the first game played after the birth of my first child..... Also, first game played after my dad was born? Well he was born in the 50's ........so yeah, the curse goes back to there too. I'm curious about the birth year of my grandfather, but I'm pretty sure he was born in Michigan and never cared about football (or sports in general). Thanks for letting me share.

  12. Three games, no TV: Friday April 5th at 6:05 p.m. CST Saturday April 6th at 1:05 p.m. CST Sunday April 7th at 1:05 p.m. CST Doesn't appear to be any weather issues this weekend for the Iowa City location that I could find, and I don't believe they've announced starters yet. Let's make up for the lost mid-week opportunity and go sweep another B1G team.
  13. Just about time to leave the house and head out to see if I can harvest another one this season. Anyone going today? Not sure how Nebraska or surrounding states do their seasons?
  14. In just a blink of an eye, the season is over. Our first Big Ten season, with all the ups, downs, fanfare, and weirdness, all gone... just like that. Anyone going to the game? I'll be there, loud as ever. If anyone is having trouble figuring out how to cheer, the "blue hairs" have your back. Here's the official 1928 Nebraska Cheer flyer. I expect to hear these today:
  15. I know this game is still a few weeks away but i just wanted to get every ones thoughts about who will win?
  16. A pair of Iowa-born Husker fans recently relocated to Denver looking to come back to spend the holiday with family and catch at least one game this year. Hoping to not spend too much - will take as nosebleed as they get. Thanks! -Brad
