BigRedRick
The polls are irellevent at this point. The only thing we need to do is win. Quote Link to comment
admo
Yeah, it's no biggie. I always thought the polls should begin from where you ended the season. But hey, that's just my thought. Quote Link to comment
huskerstag
Here's food for thought: if we lose to USC, do we drop out of the Top 25? If we were Notre Dame we would probably move up a couple of spots. Quote Link to comment
BigRedSmitty
I know Husker fans don't like to compare Callahan teams to Osborn teams (and if you have read any of my posts, I do this a lot.) But Big Red Nation, may I add I may not be the only one doing this...especially the ones who are voting in the polls. An Osborn team would have put up 70 pts on La Tech. An Osborn team would have put up 21 pts in the 1st Quarter rather than the 4th. When it comes to the polls I don't agree with this, but there are people who still feel we are a long way from being the old Nebraska, which we are. We won a game and that is it...it was aginst LaTech and next we play Nicholls St. I haven't seen the polls, but my question would be...Is Cal still ranked ahead of us. We actually looked good in this game. I was impressed witht the final numbers...the running game seemed to be going great, and wow 21 pts in the 4th, has a Callahan team ever put up 21 in the 4th. It was a great win, and a great way to start the season, but I didn't expect us to move up even if we would have scored 100pts. It was LA "FREEKIN' Tech. If this team is as good as everyone says it is, we will move up when we are supposed to, but I can promise you it won't happen unless we upset USC (?) or we get into the Big 12. I agree with one person, we may actually drop out at one point and then have to work our way back in. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
If we do beat USC I say we move up to like 16th spot or somewhere in there. Quote Link to comment

darveaux
16 over a win against USC? Hogwash...we beat USC I bet we're in the Top Ten. Guarantee it. And I honestly think we are going to have a good chance. Only thing we need to do is buck up our D. Quote Link to comment
herbers42
Who cares what rank we are right now. We need to handle our business and win some games, the polls will take care of themselves. It is only 1 week into the season. You have to earn respect. Quote Link to comment
ttheKid1*18
I agree. We will move into the top ten, probably around 9 or so, it matters how other top ten teams do though. Quote Link to comment
darveaux
Very true 'TheKid'. I'm just so happy it's freakin Football Season again...well NCAA football...I could care less about NFL. Quote Link to comment
Hawkeyehusker
If we dropped a spot after beating a division 1A team by all those points I wonder if we are going to drop again this week after we beat a lower division team. I quess it doesn't matter. If we beat USC next week we will move up a few positions. USC will probably stay ahead of us. But we will move up some. Quote Link to comment
