ttheKid1*18
And underrated chant would be cool as well though. I don't think I have ever heard that chant. Quote Link to comment
hack
Tearing down goalposts makes less sense than listening to a Colorado fan trying to explain how they can still win the North. you mean the "every other team in the big xii north gets trampled on by rouge elephants whille they're on the own practice fields" strategy? it's not impossible, just highly improabale. Licensed to Ill
If our students tear them down, they better tear them down quick. It looks so stupid when they're up there for 15 minutes... Quote Link to comment
EnrolledKU_Husker4Life
Should the Posts come down if we win: Most Definately, we have been struggling tremendously these past few years and for people like myself that are Husker fans out of the state of Nebraska, everyone wants to throw dirt on you for Nebraska having a down couple of years. Tearing down the posts would let the country know that we are back by letting our crazy fans let loose the pinned up frustrations. Will we win: I am just as huge a fan as all of you. My week is ruined when they lose, but if Colt McCoy gets over the loud noise, then the size of thier recievers will cause us fits. This is basically the USC game all over again, just in our stadium and us playing against better running backs than recievers. Texas has a huge D Line and if Cally continues to call sh**ty games (attempting to not get blown out) then we of course are screwed. Biggest Game in Years and I really have no idea who is going to win it. The story line is great. The game should be great. Let us pray......... Quote Link to comment
cmb23
The goalposts were torn down in the Golden '90s. A friend of mine made it about halfway up one of the uprights before it snappend and he fell about 25 feet to the turf. Idiot. He was the same guy that went to the Willie Otay execution/protest with a sign that says "I like Macaroni and Cheese". He liked pot. I agree with all of the posts about having class and 'being there before'. Tearing down goalposts should be reserved for teams like Temple (nations longest losing streak) or a 1-AA team that knocks off a major D-1 school (Montana State anyone???). That is...if there are enough fans at one of those games to bring them down. As far as chanting 'overrated' and 'go start the bus'? If that excites you and gives you a jolly feeling, hit up a high-shcool game. They still have a few regular season games left and I hear that the hot dogs there are only 50 cents. The best support for Nebraska (and demoralizing Texas or any opponent) is for all the fans to be on their feet all 4 quarters, yelling, cheering and cracking the foundation of Memorial Stadium. I'm all for having the fans crazed and loud (hey blue-hairs...get with the program or give your tix to your grandkids) but no need to rush the field or tear the place up. With that being said...reality check...we'll have to put together 4 PERFECT quarters to have a chance. 'Should we tear down the golposts?' - Having this discussion is like 2 unemployed factory workers, who've just cashed their enemployment checks in a casino, discussing if they should buy a Hummer or a Corvette when they win the progressive on nickel slots. Regardless, I'll have all my Husker gear on...sitting on the couch...Game Day on...brats on the grill and beer in hand by 9am. Quote Link to comment
ttheKid1*18
I agree with EnrolledKU about their team. This is just like the SC game with their backs being great, and their receivers young, except for Sweed. Which really helps us with the way our run D has played the last two weeks. Hopefully we stuff the run, and force McCoy to pass all the time, and we can get some pressure on him. GBR! Quote Link to comment
