Eric the Red
Top 40 Big 12 players July 3, 2007 Notice that just eight of the Top 20 players are from the North Division. Yeah, the South figures again to dominate the North this fall. The rankings aren't just based on past performance; I also took into account potential for growth. That's why a guy like Texas quarterback Colt McCoy is ranked so highly despite playing just one year. 1. Reggie Smith, DB, Oklahoma 2. Adarius Bowman, WR, Oklahoma State 3. Frank Okam, DT, Texas 4. Colt McCoy, QB, Texas 5. Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas 6. Chase Daniel, QB, Missouri 7. Ian Campbell, LB, Kansas State 8. Limas Sweed, WR, Texas 9. Cody Wallace, C, Texas A&M 10. Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma 11. Martin Rucker, TE, Missouri 12. Alvin Bowen, LB, Iowa State 13. Tony Hills, OT, Texas 14. Bo Ruud, LB, Nebraska 15. Martellus Bennett, TE, Texas A&M 16. Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas 17. Matt Slauson, G, Nebraska 18. Chase Coffman, TE, Missouri 19. Mike Goodson, RB, Texas A&M 20. Graham Harrell, QB, Texas Tech 21. Chris Harrington, DE, Texas A&M 22. Marcus Watts, S, Kansas State 23. David Koenig, OT, Oklahoma State 24. Allen Patrick, RB, Oklahoma 25. Derek Lokey, DT, Texas 26. Ryan Walters, S, Colorado 27. Stephen McGee, QB, Texas A&M 28. Jamaal Charles, RB, Texas 29. Red Bryant, DT, Texas A&M 30. Roddrick Muckelroy, LB, Texas 31. Jorvorskie Lane, RB, Texas A&M 32. Jordon Dizon, LB, Colorado 33. Bret Meyer, QB, Iowa State 34. Shannon Woods, RB, Texas Tech 35. Joe Pawelek, LB, Baylor 36. Terrence Wheatley, CB, Colorado 37. George Robinson, G, Oklahoma 38. Jake Ratliff, DE, Texas Tech 39. Anthony Collins, OT, Kansas 40. Sam Keller, QB, Nebraska Quote Link to comment
westgatehusker
the one thing that gets to me there is that shannon woods is on that list.....he doesn't belong Quote Link to comment

huskerguy
- No Maurice Purify? No Todd Blythe? - Mike Goodson (RB/TexasA&M) is ahead of Allen Patrick (RB/Okla.) - Bo Ruud isn't even the best LB on Nebraska, let alone the #14 player in the Big XII - No way in hell is Chase Daniel the #6 Big XII player Overall... - Sweed should be much higher, ahead of McCoy for sure. - Shannon Woods is on this list? If he was on Oklahoma he would be atleast 4th on their depth chart... and theres no way he's a better RB than Lucky and finally - No Zack Bowman. that list sucks... way to much love for Texas Tech and Texas A&m Quote Link to comment

TrueHuskerFan
At least half of the North players on the list were from Nebraska, I guess that is showing us some love. Quote Link to comment
skrsOVRsc
Most of them are well deserved! Not that I'm partial. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
just another example of the talent difference between the north and south divisions. it will definitely take awhile for the north to close the gap, if ever. Quote Link to comment
skrsOVRsc
It may never be equel but it should'nt ever be worse than it is right now. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
- Bo Ruud isn't even the best LB on Nebraska, let alone the #14 player in the Big XII The idea that the reporter chose him 14th means he did very little research and just wanted to get hits on his internet story.......I just don't know what the infatuation is with Ruud. I agree, to be clear I think Ruud is a very good player, but I just don't think you can put him above Octavian. (IMO the best LB we have) Quote Link to comment
