cmb23
For those of you who care....here is my startoff for the '07 season: The countdown is on, players practice each day, Fans are buzzing about the team preparing to play. Will this be the year that it all comes together? Or another hard season we'll all have to weather? It's year number four of Coach Callahan's reign, He's got a lot to lose, but much more to gain. His staff is a mix of hard workers and winners The NU program is not one for coaching beginners. The offense has gone through its growing pains, But now it consistently moves the ball and the chains. The defense has remained constant during the change, But now the Blackshirts must again rule the range. The man, Zac Taylor, effectively ran the West Coast. Now that he's gone, a replacement is needed the most. Could a transfer with one year left be the right feller? A lot rides on the right arm of the new man, Sam Keller. He's big, he's brash and has a bit of a chip on his shoulder, with one year to prove, Carpenter should've been the holder. ASU screwed up letting this future NFL'er leave town, Passing records at NU will soon come tumbling down. Last year B-Jax emerged out of the stable of backs, But he left a year early and will be starting for the Packs. Will it be Lucky or Glenn that will take over the role? Or will a new name and face be the one to fill the hole? The receivers are a mix of 'posession' and 'big play'. Nunn, Swift, Peterson and Mo-Purify leading the way. Off-field issues are over, no longer a distraction Time for all of the players to get ready for action. A great blackshirt line came to an end...rather two, As Moore is in 49'er red, Carriker in St. Louis Blue. Turner and Potter are ready for battle, know this is true. And the middle will be anchored by big Ndamukong Suh. Corners and Safeties are a huge part of the game, Fans are ready for the return of one specific name. Bowman's rehab has been miraculous this year, If he's at 100% opposing receivers should live in fear. Jordan Congdon flaked out, went home, and is now a Trojan. Not much of a loss, as his leg provided no explosion. Hopefully Adi Kunalic can knock them in from downtown, And be as reliable as NFL'ers Kris and Josh Brown. Most exciting are all of the newcomers with talent so real Witt, Akamura, Gilleylen, Paul, and big-back Castille. How many will Husker fans see in early season action? An immediate impact by just one will bring great satisfaction. Last year, reaching the Big XII Championship was one goal, This year fans hope to win it, and reach a BCS Bowl. GO BIG RED!!! This season should be fun! Husker Nation waits eagerly for their next title run... Quote Link to comment

cmb23
Great job! Your first poem of the year set the standard pretty high. I'll have to have the next one performed by P-Diddy and streamed on the internet.... Quote Link to comment
