This is why he is out:

Ronald Jimmey Spears' altruism cost him his life early Tuesday when he was shot in North Oakland while celebrating his 29th birthday.

Spears, whose birthday was Monday, asked a man for directions, agreed to give him a ride and was then shot dead by him, relatives said as police searched for the killer.

Mr. Spears is Mo's brother. Much thoughts and prayers to the Purify family. To hell with all this mindless violence.

Jordan Congdon anyone?

Why would you even throw that out there?

His brother died, he had to go home to be with his family through this and will likely stay for the funeral and maybe a couple extra days and be back with teammates to support him.

Hopefully he can use all this as motivation to make something out of his life and get his family to a safer place.

My sincere condolences to the Purify family. First Mo’s close friend last season, now his brother. Simply tragic.

All jokes aside.

This is why I hate people.

You weren't joking??? That's sad. C'mon, man, you're better than this. Supposedly someone passes away in the family, and it might be a brother, and you're making Jordan Congdon references? Who really cares.

Hope all is well, Mo, and if it isn't...God be with you.

Slow down, man.

It would be really insane for Mo to leave the team. Yes, I'm sure he is devestated, but this can't be in his best interests. With this big of loss, no one could possibly be in their right minds, you can't make rational decisions in emotional situations. He needs some time to think and heal.

He got 2 DUIs, Worked hard to prove he still wants to be a husker, and got his punishment for a 1 game suspension... now because his brother died he would leave the team?

This rumor would make no sense.

What would his options be?

1. Quit Football and live a normal life

2. Try getting in the NFL

3. Transfer Schools

He could do the 1st, but by doing that he will probably be hurting himself and his family with his potential NFL career. With how players are getting punished in the NFL now I doubt anyone would pick him up after his just mysteriously leaves the team? The final one he could do to get closer to home, but he will have to sit out or go D2, and his character is still in question for any future NFL career.
