bach57
I know that this is wishful thinking and won’t happen, but if we fire Steve Peterson we might be able to get Bo Pelini to come back to Nebraska. He is one of the best coaches in the nation. In his 4 years at LSU he has only had one game where the opposing team has scored 30+. With that type of defense you hardly need an offense. Bo Pelini is dying to get a head coaching job at a big time program. Nebraska needs to act before its to late. Sadly I know this will never happen its just a wish. Quote Link to comment
coyeote
It's been said that you can never go back. Pelini was great, he's a great motivator, has had great assistants and great success. He's got speed all over the place down there. He had it here too. There's not doubt that the talent level on D is down at NU (Ruud, McKeon, Steinkuler etc.) but Pelini would get everything they had and then some. That being said it will never happen. Had we been able to keep him then, along with a good offensive mind we would have had something but there is NO CHANCE we will ever see him on our sideline again. Quote Link to comment

bethelbacker
Yea, it is unfortunate. I'd give just about anything to get Bo back. Quote Link to comment

How is the Husker Board going to fire Pederson? Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Because the university listens to us, these wizened armchair folks here on internet message boards. Clearly, we know more about what we're doing, and we care more about this team, than the AD, coach, coaching staff, and weak-hitting players combined! Quote Link to comment

HuskerHolmez58
I wish it were that easy, but methinks that as long as our teams are staying moderately competitive in most sports, then SP will remain. Our volleyball team is dominant, the baseball team was good, but they're sliding now, and basketball seems to be coming up. I'd love to see SP gone, and I'll do whatever it takes, within reason to accomplish that. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
wasn't it ped who said that cally and the team had exceeded all his expectations, up until this point (before the USC game)? maybe his defintion of success is different? you just knew that contract had to be extended BEFORE the SC game, right? either way, cally is still our best chance to move forward. If you were a board member for longer than 6 months, you'd understand. The fact that he is being mentioned again 4 years later is ridiculous. I wish I woulda f'd 'ole whatshername' too. motorboatjonesNU
Bo Pelini still has not shown the class needed to be the face of a D1 program. Sure, he was a great D-coordinator, but too arrogant, and thought he was above NU. Tell his wife to stop swearing in the media. I'm sure Nancy Osborne drops "damn" at the press every chance she gets. That's really classy. If he ever does get a HC position, it'll be at a mid-major or directional school. Let's get over Bo now... finally... and realize his limitations. Quote Link to comment
