Welcome to the Callahan era

Recommended Posts

This is what we have to look foward to in the future less something amazing happens and the ad and hc and dhc are all fired, Callahan is good at one thing and one thing only and that is taking a team that won the previous year and turning them into loosers the very next season, this is not about the athletic ability of the players the talent is there the coaching is not....

I truely wish that the seniors could have went to a bowl game its sad to see a team that won last year with the players fall to 5-6 due to a lack of coaching, Dailey is being asked to do something he cannot it is as if Callahan doesnt care if he cant he only wants to showcase his O win or loose.

Or perhaps he is loosing so next season if nebraska somehow manages to go 6-5 he can say that they are making progress... who knows the only thing that is for sure is that the program is at a all time low, lets not forget Pederson "We will not let Nebraska slip into big 12 midocracy", or Callahan " with the WCO we will take what we want not what they give us."

The only thing that the wco has taken is a beating, and Nebraska has fallen to the midocracy they are now below that... im not hating anything other than seeing my beloved huskers loosing due to coaching. :steam

AMEN!!!!!!!

He just can't coach...

What was his gameplan? Let them lead by 13, then we'll make a furious charge in the end, just to come up short.

He needs to be run out of town on a rail. If I had the money, i'd be putting up the for sale sign on his house tomorrow...

Hey, what do you know. Huskerfantls comes out of the woodwork again with nothing but hate. Couldn't have guessed that in a million years. Are you surprised every year when another year comes around?

For those who watched the game with no blind hate towards their own team, the plays didn't get executed on the offensive side of the ball. The defense was mediocre per the usual in last half of the season. The defense couldn't hold them when we get them pinned down in their own territory. That was horrible.

They really moved the ball towards the end. It showed some fight when they could have just laid down. Where was that in the first 56 minutes of the game? Joe, you better believe you will be challenged to the nth degree for your job next year.

The players see bright times ahead. Ask them. Some fans don't. Funny when you think about it. Well, more sad reallly.

I don't hate the players, just the coach...

You mean the players that stick it out. I applaude them.

I hope they stay, because BC is making life difficult for them to do so...

How do you know? Do you speak with them often?

The fact of the matter is there is a lot that the common fan doesn't see. All they see is wins and losses. They don't see the relationships that the players have with the coaches or what they really think of the coaches. All we can do, as people looking from the outside in, is take people at their word. Anything else is purely speculation.

Pretty much, and walksalone, since you live in Jersey and say you are out of the loop on Harrison Beck, how would you know ANYTHING about these kids? I don't. I am sure some kids are gonna leave, but that is to be expected. Heck, Crouch almost left in 99 when Solich didn't start him. These are 18-22 year olds. It takes a lot to be a student athlete these days and I am sure it is magnified by being a Husker and having the pressure to turn this program around. If kids want to leave, then I wish them well. There are lots more factors in a kid leaving than Bill Callahan, Steve Pederson, Kevin Cosgrove, etc. Think about the decisions you made when you were 19 years old.

DJR, I don't have my "finger on the pulse" of Nebraska football. I guess that's me not being "Nebraskan".

But, for one minute, do you think these kids are proud of this season? They know that they're on the football team that saw two amazing streaks come to an embarrasing, disappointing end.

They did they best they could, considering the conditions that were there.

1) A new head coach

2) A new Defensive Coordinator

3) A completely different offense

By the way, next time just say, "you're in Jersey, what in the hell do you know". I'll apprecaite it more than you sugar coating it...

That would be a personal attack walksalone and those aren't allowed :) And you completely missed the entire point of my post.

Who's fault is this?

"They were yelling at each other in the huddle," McChesney said of the Huskers. "The offensive line was yelling at the quarterback, and he was yelling at everybody. I was happy about that.

For God sake we made msn.com

What a bunch of jerkoffs. What do they want? Us to apologize for handing them their ass more times than not?

If you are not mad that nebraska lost or angry that a team with a winning record amazingly turned to a losing record in one season basically what Callahan did with the Raiders, then please follow some other team where you can say there is always next year, there is always next year.... and after 5 or 6 years you finally catch on that it doesnt matter what next year brings in talent you still have the same worthless coach....

Listen buddy,

Did I ever say I wasn't upset about this year? NO. Would I rather spend my time talking about things that matter and that are discussable and not drown in pool of my own bitterness? YES.

FACTS:

  • This season is over.
  • Callahan and his staff will be coaching next year.
  • All you want to do is bellyache about crap that really doesn't matter.
  • I have said that after 2-3 more years Callahan hasn't turned it around, we need to find someone else. But you along with your lackies seem to skip that part.
  • You are unreasonable and thus, I suggest no one waste anymore time trying to debate with you and your lackies. It's like trying to blow out a light bulb.

With that, I am sure we will see you the next time "your team" loses and we won't see you here when they win. What does that say?

Oh and BTW, I have a website for you. www.firesteve.com. You and the rest of the "fans" there can stew in your hatred and self loathing there all you want.

It amazing to me that somebody would put that kind of work into a website that has absolutely ZERO influence on how the athletic deparment is run. Must make someone feel better about themselves.
