I really appreciate you bringing the WCO to my beloved Huskers, and running them into the ground with it. I look forward to the coming years of us sucking. Losing today's game you've accomplished a couple of things that haven't been done in decades. One, ending our bowl streak at 35, and giving us our first losing season in 43 years.

I hope you take pride in what you've accomplished, and realize that you've got the Husker faithful behind you...

It's too bad that you didn't watch the whole game, walksalone. The team has promise and is working an offense designed to pass; with run oriented players.

If you follow the recruiting picture you will see that the Husker future looks extremely productive.

I was upset to see them lose as much as any other Husker fan; but all good things do come to an end. If it wouldn't have been today, it would've been 5, 10, perhaps 20 years from now. But it would have ended.

The last time Nebraska had a losing season was 1961? Kennedy was our President and I was 4 years from being BORN.

So I take it in stride and I give OUR coach the opportunity he DESERVES to prove himself next year. If Nebraska goes another year a loser, I will support you, but right now I support those who need it most OUR PLAYERS.

It's too bad you're not a Nittany Lion fan, you'd probably be suffering from a heart condition coupled by an ulcer.

One more time for the GOOD TIMES (Dave Humm, Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers, Vince Ferrigamo, Dave Remmington, Will Shields, Tommie Frazier, Ahman Green, Scott Frost, and Eric Crouch (to name a few), GO BIG RED!

Damn its good th be a HUSKER!

Can we have a contest for guessing who will post what after a Husker win or loss?

This is hard to swallow. Harder for some. Not going to a bowl will make the wait to spring ball a bit longer. I never put much stock in streaks, but that's me. I guess it's the price to be paid for not being happy with having a winning season every year and going to some joe schmoe bowl.

Bring on the recruits and spring ball!

I'm sorry I don't have a, "wait till next year" attitude about this. I'm friggin pissed off. I'm glad that it's nice to have such a flippant attitude about the worst season in over 40 years.

I was raised, and bleed cornhusker football, and what I saw today absolute made me sick.

They showed up for the last 5 minutes of the game, other than the one defensive series before the half, other than that, NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!

I hope BC does a hell of a lot better next year. If he doesn't, then who in the hell will want to come play for him? Maybe we can get some more losers from NJ to come to Nebraska.

I absolutly agree, football may not be about streaks but it is about winning or at least showing that you can comwith the best, From what I have listen and watched this season I dont see any of that... I also dont agree with the PLayers recruited to be in a option style offense bull. This year was all about being out coached, what a suprise that Cosgrove drove a top 10 D into a crap D, and a who cares Offense (wco) Callahan has a interesting pattern running from the raiders now the huskers he takes over and wam teams that were good turn to crap... I feel for the seniors and hope that players with a chance to go pro do so, and running backs that have talent xfr or go pro as Callahan has no idea how to use a excellent back like ross.

Had to expect the usual suspects with the usual responses. I think the future is bright. Cory Ross was basically being held up by strings for the game. Can't figure out Dailey, sometimes he looks pretty good, sometimes he looks like a Freshman B team quarterback in high school. The defense couldn't stop hardly anything. I am surprised it was only 26 points allowed. I am looking forward to next spring and next fall. I thank the seniors for their efforts and their class on the field, good luck to you all, you have been through a lot.

Don't apologize for your attitude. You want to be pissed off that you don't feel as special anymore. That's cool man. More power to you. It's not going to get you anywhere, but that's cool.

Looking to next year as a reality at this point. This season is in the books.

Yea, the game was dissapointing. More Jekyl and Hyde stuff. I am not saying it doesn't make me mad, but hey, what am I going to do about it? I find that festering doesn't do wonders.

Overall, like I have said over and over and over, there are too many variables to point to a single reason why this season went like it did. Many many times the team got the crap end of the stick, so to speak. Look at some of the turnovers today. Seems like we couldn't get a break all year and this game was a microcosm of it. On top of that, a lot of these players have never got the real opportunity to settle in with a coaching staff. At the press conference at the end of the game today, Sievers even said that he felt that there were guys on the defense that never did buy into Cosgrove's defense. When you don't have support of the team for whatever reason, be if philisophical or you just don't like the coordinator, how is anything supposed to get done? The one exception is Ruud. That guy obviously can excel in any defense and understands the big picture.

Sure, maybe Callahan has some learning to do as a head coach. A coach who thinks he has it all down pat and has nothing to learn is a fool. At many many press conferences this year, he admits he has learning to do. Everyone does. As a Nebraskan, to not support him at this time is very unNebraskan. Most people who claim he thinks he knows it all are simply bull****ing.

Sorry for the length. I would suggest those who are afflicted take their ADD pills before they read. :)

See Dave, here in lies a large part of the problem. When SP lucked out and FINALLY got himself a coach (one with a name even), he grinned as he alway does and told us how great things would be. You have bought into that and I guess that's up to you. IF BC is as great has SP claimed and you seem to agree, WHY does he have some things to learn? We won't be out coached remember!

Ok pal, list somewhere I said that i'm worried about "feeling special". Apparently you don't mind a great history and tradition being pissed away by a guy who's not fit to hold Tom Osbourne's clipboard.

I don't have any choice there, do I?

If he's got learning to do, then why change the offense? Done in increments, ok, I understand that. But to totally overhaul the offense is absoulutely stupid. I know that our players will do their best to adapt, but isn't this a little much?

To not support him is very "unNebraskan"??? Who made you the arbiter of what's "Nebraskan"? So to be "Nebraskan", means that all of us fans who are die hard supporters, should just "man our ankles, and prepare to be boarded"??? I see something wrong, and it doesn't just start with the waste of chromosomes that is our head coach, but the AD.

Is that adding insult to injury? Like, "hey cripple, nice tie"???

You didn't say it. It's a feeling I get reading your posts. The Huskers as you like them have been perceivably taken away. Just a feeling I get, I am probably wrong.

Secondly, tell me exactly how history and tradition get pissed away? Because of what's going on now we as Husker fan's can't take pride in the programs accomplishments of the past? It all just doesn't count now? Well piss on that. That's a bunch of BS.

Who would be fit to hold, your hero, Tom Osborne's clipboard?

Ahh, that would be a no.

The learning I refer to has nothing to do with his offense or anyone else’s offense. To the best of my knowledge he has never been a college head coach. Let alone a head coach at Nebraska. Thus I think he, like anyone else in a new position, has some growing to do.

Now in respect to the offense he brings, What coach in his right mind would take a job where one criteria was that you have to run an offense you know nothing about? That would be like taking a job as a chef if you were a steamfitter. Sure, you know how to make a grilled cheese but that's about it.

In my opinion, if you don't practice it you won't do it well anywhere. If you are going to do something, do all of it or go home.

No one mad me official arbitrator, but that's the great thing about this. It's my OPINION. Nebraskans, well most of them, are pretty accepting people. Granted that you aren't gay and want to get married or you want to gamble at a casino in your state :)

Most people here are what you would call die hard fans. However, some of these so called "die hard fans" aren't really a fan of the team at all. They are more a fan of a style of football. When that style was taken away, or perceivably taken away, watch out world! I am not saying that you exactly fit here in this catagory, but it sure seems like it sometimes. That is where the difference lies to me. Thus, I guess it comes down to the fact that we are never going to see eye to eye on much to do with Nebraska football.

Is that adding insult to injury?  Like, "hey cripple, nice tie"???

That wasn't directed at you. It was directed at members who "don't believe in writing paragraphs".

We had what ?????!!!!!! Did you say PROMISE ? One game where we got close to a average....AVERAGE...Colorado team is NOT..I repeat ..is NOT promise ! So if going 5-6 is promise to you then what was going from 7-7 to 10-3 ? Doomsday for ya ??? We showed PROMISE by ending a 43 year streak.. We showed PROMISE by missing a bowl for the first time since 1961. I bet you voted for Ralph Nader this past election year because he had PROMISE right ???

To defend this man for maybe going 8-3 or 7-4 could have been understandable but this is ridiculous and for you guys to say you wanna give him more time is very sad indeed !

Bowl streak was 35 years, not 43. That was the streak for consecutive non-losing seasons. And what are you gonna do if he doesn't get fired? Absolutley nothing like everyone else because you aren't Callahan's boss, you aren't Pederson's boss, I am guessing you aren't even Tony Danza's boss. So it's either time to find a new team if you don't want to give him more time, or close your yapper and be a fan. Because Callahan is going to be given his fair amount of time to get the ship righted and there is nothing you can do about it except either support the Huskers, or not support them. Whether or not he can fix it, he WILL be given a chance by the University.
