Eric the Red
I think he said this. Is this a good idea having another head coach calling plays for a team instead of just "managing" Quote Link to comment
GSG
He also said he's going to let the other coaches coach their own spots. With what he has done in the past I'll let him call the defense and let someone else call the offense and whatnot.. Quote Link to comment
FriscoTXHusker
I think he said this. Is this a good idea having another head coach calling plays for a team instead of just "managing" I'm afraid that sounds too much like having two coaches, I think one of Callahan's biggest mistakes, i.e., not taking care of the problems on D. Bleeding Husker Red
Cosgrove must have winced when he heard this. Bet the next story we hear is "Pelini Dismisses Cosgrove." Quote Link to comment

o-line54
It sounds to me that he will call the defensive plays but not be the D coordinator technically. He will hire a guy and let him coach but Pelini will be make the executive decisions when calling the plays. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
Only coaches that want to be interviewed will have a chance to retain their spots...I highly doubt Cosgrove wants to be here anymore Quote Link to comment
NPhusker
What this does is make the offensive coordinator position very important. I think Pelini will take a more hands on approach on the offense but wont dictate what goes on. Osborne called the offensive plays and was involved in the defense, but the defense was ran by Charlie McBride. So Pelini will run the D but will be involved with the offense to some degree (more than Callahan was involved with defense) and the OC will ultimately run the offense. Quote Link to comment
Wally
I don't think Cosgrove showed up to do recruiting. So he is already gone. Quote Link to comment
HuskerTrucker
What would be wrong with him calling defensive plays? Most of the time, the coach comes from a offensive background and calls the plays with input from the booth where the OC is..... I have no problem with Bo taking on the Defense.... HuskerTrucker
I thought that it was decided that the name of Cos**** was to never be spoken within the Husker Nation again unless you wanted to get 40 lashes....?? Quote Link to comment

REDSTEEL
I think Pelini should keep Cos as the DC, and every time he made a bad decision, BO would overrule and give him that head slap, like Benny Hill use to do to that old bald guy. Quote Link to comment
