Don't expect miracles

No way to tell. After the 2002 season, no one would have forseen that many NFL picks coming off that team. Could be the same this time, or could not be. But if the defense can simply move to average and the offense maintain what it managed with Ganz, then we should have no worse than 8 wins.

I think there is more than enough athletic ability of the defense to be solid. One of the biggest issues with the 2007 squad was no one ever seemed to know what their responsibilites were. How many times did you see the guys shuffling around as the ball was being snapped?

Defense is, in large part, a product of emotion and desire. A group of average athletes can make up a tremendous defense if they are motivated, intense, driven and well-coached.

Exactly!

Performance enhancing drugs don't hurt, either. Or you can try it naturally. Nothing wrong with a little well earned respect in the college football neighborhood. :)

IMO, just moving up 30 or 40 spots on defense will give us more wins (Texas, CU, maybe A&M). The offense will not be in must score 60+ points to win, which will limit the # of throws (interceptions). I do believe that the current players will need step up because it was not all coaching last year.

Time will tell......
