Odds to win the 2008 BSC Championship

Recommended Posts

Don't know if this was posted, but what the hey!

Huskers are 100-1 to win the BCS Championship according to Sportsbook.com.

other Big 12 teams are;

Missouri 20 - 1

Kansas 60 - 1

Oklahoma 8 - 1

Oklahoma St 75 - 1

Texas 30 - 1

Texas A&M 100 - 1

Texas Tech 75 - 1

Some interesting teams/odds

USC 5 - 2 and Florida at 6 - 1 are favorites

Notre Dame 75 - 1

Considering the Irish had a more disappointing season and play a tougher scheduled than the Huskers, I find it strange that Nebraska is a longer favorite.

the rest of the field is 25 - 1.

After last season, I would say that is generous....but then I KNOW we will win it, so I should make the bet.

I wouldn't be suprised if Notre Dame is ranked in the pre-season poll. They always seem to find their way in there regardless of whether they deserve it or not.

nd

not that it matters but our odds should be a little higher. usc is interesting booty, washington, davis, ellis, rivers, are all done. i dont doubt them as a top 10 team but favorites. texas that far off from ou is surprising, i think they will be quite a bit better than last year.

Seriously, its not out of the question. Our offense was ranked 11th in the NCAA and the defense was pretty terrible. Given the coaching change though, i think that really gives a legit shot. In 2002 the huskers were a very mediocre defense and that is being generous, but when Pelini took over in 03 the huskers led the NCAA in turnovers. Combine a potent offense with a fired up defense THAT ACTUALLY PLAYS WITH PASSION and i think were definetely in the mix for it next year.
