NU fan in Denver
Didn't like the new formations. Liked the blitzes, but 3 dL can't get to the qb. The middle of the field was wide open all day. Quote Link to comment
captain obvious
Isn't this the same sh#t we tried last year? We didn't even sniff the backfield tonight after the first quarter. Quote Link to comment

sarge87
That goes to show how weak we are at LB. Quote Link to comment

Huskerballz
I was about to start a thread about this. Why the hell were we running a 3 man defensive front?!? That's Cosgrove crap! We did that exact same thing last year, and what happened? We got smoked and never got to Booger! I was really disappointed in our defensive scheme, I thought we had something planned better than that. Quote Link to comment
DaveH
Technically it was 4 but whatever. Quote Link to comment

IMO, we got some halfway decent pressure, but Daniel just sits really deep in that shotgun. A lot of teams have had trouble pressuring him over the past couple seasons(besides OU lol) Quote Link to comment
dlrn64
What would you do to defend the Spread Offense? I would mix it up more defensively I think. One thing that I would do is have six guys close to the line of scrimmage and tell them to really knock the guys going out for passes off their routes and make them pay before they get into their route. That would give the rushers time to get to the QB and you would possibly tire out the WR's and RB's a little more. Too many times I see players just get off the line of scrimmage too easily and it is much easier for a passing team to get into the rhythm when they aren't knocked off their route from the start. That would be something I would try at least for a series to see if it worked. Any other ideas? Quote Link to comment
husker rob
from what i saw last night, was a lack of team speed, especially on defense. Dillard will never be able to cover a TE Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
There isn't a defensive scheme out there that's going to stop this offense. Toughness, tackling and speed will. As far as the scheme. I didn't mind it one bit. It wouldn't have mattered one sh#t what scheme we came out with. You have to tackle, take good angles, and be tough. We were a little tough but zero on the other two. Schemes aren't nearly as important as the players. We need athletes. Not walk-ons from Bellevue, NE.... Quote Link to comment
