Street Novelist
since it's on a Thursday, wouldn't that mean less time for prep? and does that mean that before the deal, the game was not going to be broadcast nationally? Quote Link to comment
UGAHusker
since it's on a Thursday, wouldn't that mean less time for prep? Originally we were scheduled to play them Oct. 3 instead of Oct 8. This actually gives us more time to prep for Mizzou. We have an open date that Saturday (Oct. 10), so we still have over a week of time to prep for Texas Tech. If you look at Mizzou's schedule, they had the same situation that we did and are now benefiting from it in the same way. Quote Link to comment

DaveH
damn, I hate thursday games. Seems low-class to me. uh, wat? "low-class"?!? Can you explain? Quote Link to comment
fro daddy
I honestly cannot wait for this game. Intangibles aside, we all know Nebraska is the better team, and I can't wait to see Missouri fans lose on their turf. It's time Nebraska outright embarrassed someone nationally again. Second of all, I'll bet you anything that Chase Daniel will get introduced as a special guest at the game. All the Mizzou fans will yip and holler, and then I'll hope even more that Nebraska wins so that I can see the look of utter distaste on his face. your basing this on what.... I am no homer. Everyone who knows me on this site can agree to that. But you have nothing to base this on. MU has beaten NU in Columbia since 2003 (by pretty good margins at that) and last year in Nebraska. They have done so with a number of different players, including two different QB's, 4 different TE's, 3 different RB's about 7 different WR's and god knows probabaly 40+ different starters on D (mu has different starters on D about every year. Makes it hard to keep up ) Chase Dainel & Jeremy Maclin played in two of those 4 wins. So why would MU go away when they leave? Cheer on your team, be excited. But really, Nebraska has just as many, if not more questions to answer this spring and fall when it comes to their team. And before you quip back, yes the D was better, but as has been discussed at length, that has a much to do with the O's ability to milk the clock brilliantly last year. The pts allowed, avg yrds per play (both run and pass) were all near the bottom of conference. But the D faced fewer plays than almost every team in the country. (this is not a knock. infact it was brilliant) And with almost no returing fire power, how will NU control the clock if they may not be able to get first downs. Your little rant is equal to me coming on here and saying "we all know MU is better than Nebraska. They won 41-24, 41-24, 41-6 the last 3 in Columbia, not to mention the 52-10 (i dont count cheap TD's with your starters against our 3rd string) last year in YOUR house. You guys will get Rocked!!!! -signed 'MU TROLL' Thank you and have a nice day Quote Link to comment
fro daddy
let me say this. I enjoy this site. I enjoy talking football, basketball, whatever is hot in the BS forum and so on. But my god if we are going to have to have the "my team over your team" coversations and it isn't even spring practice yet..... some of you are going to wear me out.... lol Quote Link to comment
Axl_sued_me
I don't see why everyone is so upset about this; the result will be twice as satisfying. Think about it, not only will Mizzou get whipped at home, but Blaine Gabbert, after getting torn to shreds, will have to get up the next morning, go to class, and fail his pre-algebra test. Double whammy! Quote Link to comment
fro daddy
WRONG!!! Blaine is in his second year of college now. He obviously qualified to early enrollment last year, meaning he wouldnt need pre-algebra seeing as though he most likely pass two algebra classes in High School.. DUH! lol Quote Link to comment

DUH! I am now sure that it would have to be a pre-Algebra test. It obviously wouldn't be an English test, because, after reading the above statement, I doubt that English is even taught at Mizzou. papersun87
Really? When was the last time NU played on a Thursday, anybody know? since it's on a Thursday, wouldn't that mean less time for prep? and does that mean that before the deal, the game was not going to be broadcast nationally? Sheesh, when did reading the thread go out of style? Quote Link to comment
tattooedhusker
Let's not start the grammar war, some posters (NU) give us no room to go there. Thursday game = your d******d friend that was getting married on Husker Saturday get's a free pass, assuming he made the correct choice of dates. Quote Link to comment
huskeraddict
I don't know, I'm 50% on this one. One way, it's great national exposure especially if we beat MU, but I enjoy seeing Nebraska play on Saturdays. Quote Link to comment

And if someone wants to be a bit of an NU homer, remember it is an NU board. Not to say that you need to take any crap from anyone....if that happens, give 'em wat fer! Quote Link to comment
