Ohio Pete
http://www.trojanfootballanalysis.com/wp/wordpress/ Wow, that's some detailed stuff. Might have to take a weekend to look it over. For the next month or so out of personal curiosity I plan on just looking at the Nebraska running game of the 1980’s and 1990’s. For the duration of the Tom Osborne coaching era this offense regularly averaged over 300 rush yards per game and frequently ran over teams with more than 400 rushing yards (or more) in a single afternoon. The Cornhuskers threw the ball perhaps 15-20 times a game as needed but it was a rush dominant offense. Quote Link to comment

junior4949
It's understandable why USC would go this route. Sanchez and Booty weren't exactly the gamebreakers they were made out to be. I compare passing QB's to 3 point shooters. When they have a bad day and this is what your offense is based around, then you're going to lose some games. USC has an awesome stable of RB's year in and year out like we did. They have an outstanding D year in and year out in the 90's. I just find it amazing that teams are coming back to what we used to do when all the talking heads said a dominant rushing attack can't be successful in college football. I'll take a strong running game and great D anyday over the dink and dunk crap most of the Big 12 was playing last year. The Big 12 in 08' looked like the friggin WAC. Quote Link to comment

Florida runs an option offense/running game. They could not pass vs OU, but could off of PAs when the running game got going. Quote Link to comment
