Redman
Crouch was the better athlete, Frost had more weapons surrounding him. QB, have to go with Frost. Quote Link to comment
mcrooks7
I'm sorry, but the debate about which was a better person in comparison to the other doesn't even come into question. The original question was who was the better QB and athlete, if I am not mistaken. This comes down to, what I feel is obvious. Crouch is the much better player. I got chills watching him play. No, he is and never was an NFL quarterback, but Nebraska has only just started looking for any quarterbacks who would fit the mold of a NFL QB. But no one could deny his skill. The heisman was well deserved for his contributions to the team, and though others might feel that his personal nature should have overruled his hype as an athlete, one cannot deny true skill when they see it. Crouch was an exceedingly talented player, and I wouldn't mind seeing another Crouch, attitude and all, take over for Zac Talyor and start making plays happen. Quote Link to comment
rawhide-jr
I'm all about Frosty in this discussion... He was the epiphone of what Nebraska Football used to be: Smashmouth, rugged, and strong. Crouch was a fine athlete, but when it came to short yardage, and grinding the defense into the ground (i.e. Traditional Husker Power football), Frost is the man. He may have not played for NU all 4 years, but he was born and raised a Husker, which is good enough for me. Quote Link to comment
Glendower
Did everyone forget that crouch had Buckhalter? Apparently solich did. Â CARRIES YDS YDS/CARRY 1 Correll Buckhalter, Nebraska 106 750 7.08 Quote Link to comment
StuckinChicago
hmmm, buckhalter or Green, tough choice . Frost had ten times the talent that Crouch had. When Crouch left, we went from national title game to 7-7. Dont try to tell me that Frost was a better "winner" than Crouch. You might as well say that the Yankees play on a fair playing field. Glendower
Heh. the point wasn't that Buckhalter was/is an equal to green, it was that 7+ yards per carry isn't exactly a "lack of talent". Quote Link to comment
Glendower
And Frost would issue a severe beatdown to Crouch... There. Now I've finished this thread's regression to 'my qb could beat up your qb' :-) Quote Link to comment
StuckinChicago
Yeah, Buckhalter averaged that many ypc because the entire defense was focused on stopping Nebraska's all time leader in total yardage. If you are trying to tell me that Buckhalter was more talented than or even as talented as Ahman Green, your crazy. Quote Link to comment
