EZ-E
He isnt really pulling his weight on the recruiting trail it has been said. Is he out you think? If he is out, lets go get Frost!!! Thoughts? Opinions? Quote Link to comment
huskers1
Love it!!! I think he could bring some really good innovation to the offense, some pride in NU football and I think he would relate very well to the team. His line of coaches that he's got to learn under isn't too shabby either. Quote Link to comment

If and/or when Frost would ever return to Lincoln as an assistant, I'd rather see him pick up some additional years as an offensive assistant ahead of time as prior to this year, all of his coaching experience as been on the defensive side of the ball. Nexus
You might be onto something here EZ-E. Here's my guesstimate of the possibility. Tim Beck used to be WR coach @ KU under Mangino a few years ago. Therefore he's qualified to fill that spot if need be. If the rumors of Ft. Scott HC Jeff Sims joining the NU staff is true, then he'd likely fit in as a RB coach since that seems to be his forte. Ft. Scott's offensive identity revolves around the i-formation. Or perhaps Beck will stay at RB and Sims will take over WR? Either way, I can see it happening if Gilmore was handed his pink slip. Quote Link to comment

Supposedly Sims & Carl Pelini worked together at Minnesota State Mankato years ago, so they have history together. Quote Link to comment

After the CCG I dont think Carl is going anywhere for awhile. I think he wants to be at a place that he can beat the Longhorns. Quote Link to comment
EZ-E
My guess would be that if it isnt broke dont fix it. So you leave Beck where he is at and place Sims at WRs coach. If Sims does come to the staff. Quote Link to comment

If Sims does come to the staff. Maybe, but I think it would depend more upon Sim's level of comfort coaching WR's. You know Beck can do it well and I would guess that Sims would be good with the RB's based upon his offensive philosophy and back ground. Who knows though. The other thing to consider is that Beck wasn't just the WR coach at KU, he was the Passing Game Coordinator. Maybe he moves up to a role like that to assist Wats and then coaching WR's makes sense? That is true. Did not know that Beck was the passing game coordinator at KU. The year that he was at KU they had a pretty explosive passing attack. I think Beck might also be a recruiting coordinator in training as well. What I like about MOST of this staff is that they seem almost content to be here. They seem very proud to say that they coach at Nebraska. Quote Link to comment
