Taylor
Sorry i know this will be moved. But on rivals it says that texas tech has fired Mike Leach. Big news for the Big 12. Quote Link to comment
lilred
Schools are just firing coaches like it's nothin Quote Link to comment
cscott2win
Another bogus deal. Tech will suffer. Quote Link to comment
Taylor
Ya i think they will suffer to. I wonder if we go after the qb that is commited to them? Quote Link to comment
sarge87
Confirmed. http://m.espn.go.com/ncf/story?w=19374&...P&topslot=1 Fire a coach whose recent best record 12-1 a year removed. I guess they can go back to cellar dweller status before Leach arrived. The academic department is probably throwing a wine and cheese party for the occasion as we speak. Quote Link to comment
Nate
Well, what do you guys think? texastech.rivals.com Quote Link to comment
Micheal
convenient how they fire him a day before they would have to pay him the $800,000 bonus if he's the coach on December 31, 2009 Quote Link to comment
mmmtodd
if there is not something else to all of this, ttech is going to have a battle royal legally with leach...dont forget, the guy is a lawyer himself. check out the video of the 'sheds' My Webpage Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Idiots. What the hell did Leach even do wrong? I think the TT former players who have come out of the woodwork criticizing James for his work ethic is very damning. Leach was right to drag this thing to court, and his boss got pissy and fired him. Really, really irresponsible the way the school handled this. See ya...it was such a fine run by the Red Raiders too. Quote Link to comment
strigori
Leach told a spoiled little rich boy to go have a 'time out' and gets fired for it. This is simply about TT's AD as a huge ego problem. He doesn't like Leach, and in firing him is now in the express elevator to the cellar of the Big 12. In four years the AD will be fired. mmmtodd
ill be surprised if he lasts that long. leach is just kooky enough, and plenty smart enough, to make damn sure his name is cleared in the end. and that means the tech athletic department better batten down the hatches. guns up just took on a whole different meaning for red raider nation. huskers1
does anyone know of the "other" reasons for him getting fired? On rivals it says that there are 3 other reasons aside from the obvious for him getting fired. Also Chris Perry, I'm sure some on here remember him quite well, said that what Leach did was ridiculous and practice this week was much less stressfull bc Leach was gone. I know some people will say things like this but I just find it hard to believe that Pelini were let go for something that is believed to be overblown none of the players would be saying anything bad about him and Pelini is a complete hard ass. He doesn't like Leach, and in firing him is now in the express elevator to the cellar of the Big 12. In four years the AD will be fired. If he's lucky to last that long. I think he's out by next year. It seems like the more I read about this, the more ridiculous it gets. The small dark confined space turned out to be the size of a garage...oh, torturous. This was simply an excuse to fire him, and Leach could've taken the excuse away by bending over and apologizing, but I'm glad he stuck to his guns. Man, but I am really gonna miss his Texas Tech Red Raiders. Quote Link to comment
Husker_x
From what I gather Leach had outs. He refused to admit any part in the play and the brass wasn't having it. There were several off the field issues this year with players having problems with the staff. I guess I'm a little surprised, but it's not jaw dropping. Quote Link to comment
bernorange
does anyone know of the "other" reasons for him getting fired? ... I imagine this is a big component to the story: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...231newleach.pdf Quote Link to comment
