cmb23
There really is no reason for bickering between these two programs. We own the series record 26-12-3. Not to mention Nebraska has outscored the Hawkeyes 126-27 in our last three meetings. True but we all know it is never going to go away so we might as well embrace it. And to be honest, the way both teams have played the past couple of years it would very likely be a great game. Lots of defense maybe with an occasional score?!?! Both should be pre-season top 15...even top 10. Quote Link to comment
Cy the Cyclone
Thinking Iowa will last in the Top 25 for more than a couple of weeks is a herb-induced dream. They lose four of their five starting linemen on offense, their big target from tight end and their only reliable WR...and this is from an offense that was horrid to begin with. They ranked 89th in the country, their QB is probably the only guy I've seen who couldn't realistically replace Lee with any hope of improvement. On defense, they lose the best linebacker tandem they've had for years along with their best DB. In head to head matchups with teams common to Nebraska and Iowa last year, Iowa squeaked by Arizona and Arkansas State, two teams that Nebraska rolled over easily. I won't mention the Iowa State game because Iowa cheated. The only thing that could save Iowa next year is the conference they play in so don't think Ferentz would look seriously at adding another possible loss to his schedule...after all, there are bowl incentives at stake here. Back In Black
i dont think iowa will win more than 10 games Quote Link to comment
cmb23
Despite 'some' thinking that Iowa staying in the top 25 is a pipe dream, it's possible NU won't be either. But let's just say for a second they do make a run at it...c'mon join in the Kool-aid drinking and herb-smokin' (as Cy told me...which the 'clones probably needed by halftime against Iowa). Nebraska/Iowa National Championship on Facebook!!! Quote Link to comment
Manhattan
This seems like a quality group you have there. Really good fan spirit between the two teams and I love seeing that. I think this rivalry is going to be very competitive going forward, despite what some Husker fans may think. Quote Link to comment

Nebraskans think Iowans suck...Iowans think Nebraskans suck...and that doesn't even count the football teams. When in all reality, it could be one big state...with a muddy creek (crick?) running through it with one side having more pigs and beans and the other more cows and corn. You figure out which is which. One, however, does have casinos...so you'd think the roads would be better?!?! (Believe me I commute Iowa to Nebraska and back every day. I know what I'm talking about. It will be fun to see people get a little more into it, the further into the season the teams get without a loss. And just wait for one side or the other to blow up when one loses. typ3kal
Wow. Houston. That one came out of left field, but OK?!?! Left cornfield? I resent that coming from the more leftern of the two corn states. Perhaps what you meant to say was that was out of right field. Those Iowegians sure are strange. Quote Link to comment
