RedSockPuppett
My money's on Gary Pinkel, with Bill Callahan running a close second. Not many coaches continually do less with more than Pinkel has demonstrated over his tenure at Mizzou, and given a few more solid recruiting classes I might put Callahan in the same echelon. Snyder or Mangino are more likely to drop dead than be fired, and ISU is so naturally inclined to suck that the recent semblance of success should have their helmet-wearing, short-bus riding fanbase geeked and amped aout McCarney's job for another decade. Asa Francis
Barnett...I hope. Quote Link to comment
Red Angel Wings
Another 5-6 record and Steve will show Callahan the door. Quote Link to comment

Things will only be improving out in Clone Contry. McCarney will be moving up to full time AD soon and it will be Barney ball all the time. Sure Nebraska will come calling after they fire Bill Callahan but after screw job that you guys gave Barney he will be content to beat you into the ground every year on our way to repeat conference Championships with MNC mixed in there. hack
eh, i still think it's too soon to dump callahan... however, i'm sure there could be a former fan out there who would argue otherwise. but i'm just guessing, of course. Quote Link to comment
RedSockPuppett
It's that kind of astute analysis that gives my nothing but disdain for ISU. Quote Link to comment
johnny_husker
If KSU matches last years record, I will say Snyder. Quote Link to comment
RedSockPuppett
Yeah, but who could they bring in to come and coach in the festering dungheap that is Manhattan KS? Quote Link to comment
cubhusker23
That douche bag Barnett. Quote Link to comment
gamecocks
I think it will take more than one more year of poor play for KSU to dump Snyder. I personally can't stand the guy but he put KSU football on the map so to speak. I don't think that they will dump him that easily. Quote Link to comment
Pedro Guerrero
Pinkel is the only that might get fired this year. Billy C will at least get this year amybe next. Snyder won't get the boot but might retire and Barnett some how finds ways to always save his job. ISU loves McCarney he just might be a lifer. Quote Link to comment
RedSockPuppett
If Barnett has weathered the $hitstorm this long, there's no reason to believe he'll be fired now. He's actually a pretty decent football coach, all told. Quote Link to comment
Strider
Another 5-6 record and Steve will show Callahan the door. Another 5-6 season and Steve will have been shown the door b4 he has the opportunity to show it to Callahan. Quote Link to comment
Frank Discussion
Mangino. Lew Perkins wants his own guy, and the training table bills are going through the roof. Quote Link to comment
indianahusker
Another 5-6 record and Steve will show Callahan the door. Gotta disagree with ya there, Angel. My sources say if he wins 5+ games, he is ok. 4, things get hot. 3, they get REAL hot. 2 or less, he's done. He has a large contract, one the U doesn't want to have to pay off...they are apt to give him at least another year if he goes 5-6 or 4-7. I don't agree he should be kept after another losing season, but I'm not in charge, Pedey is. I think their destiny is tied together, tho. Quote Link to comment
