kchusker_chris
Just getting in this morning and see that about 99% of Husker news revolves around the realignment. We've all debated whether or not a move would hurt recruiting in one state (Texas), or help it in another (Ohio). What I wonder..is the current flux of the Big12 hurting recruitment right now? (or is it helping) Are there kids that want to pull the trigger waiting to see how things pan out? Is a kid that might be a K-State or KU lean taking a second look because it's possible neither school will be playing in a BCS conference by the end of their careers? Seems like it would have a negative impact on schools like Baylor, K-State, & KU which happen to be schools we regularly compete with for recruits, so in that sense I'd think it helps NU...though our future is anything but decided so it may be hurting us too. ronsss
i did not like it at first..but since we cannot get a playoff system...it would move use closer to a true national champion. Quote Link to comment
EZ-E
We get California kids and we are not in the Pac-Ten. Our coaches will still be here whether we move to the Big Ten or not; therefore we will get the kids that we need to compete with any team in the nation. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
I gotta think that the speculation is hurting and not helping. There's no way a lack of certainty is going to help any situation. Once it's solidified, whichever way it goes, it should be better than it is now. Yeah, we get CA or TX kids whichever way, but different kinds of kids. Not good or bad, but the TX ones that want to be close to home and come back in-state for a couple of games a year, those are the kinds of kids that are going to be less likely to want to come here if we're Big 10. Which doesn't stop us from dipping into the TX pool regardless, but location is a big part of recruiting and as that shifts, so will the recruiting focus necessarily. Quote Link to comment
Danimal
Our profile has definitely been raised, looks good that the 10 went after us. I'd say Neb's recruiting due-south will be hurt but we'll compensate with improved national recruiting. Guarantee we'll be getting more looks from within the Big10 states. Quote Link to comment
