A10 Fan
"You guys are too kind. This is a 1AA team we are playing...remember the University of the Pacific? laugh.gif Nebraska did better against themselves in the Red/White game than your scores reflect they can do against Maine...shame, shame. Here's a bit of reality Nebraska 84 Maine 3 Rushing- 320 Passing- 535" Anyone care to take a guess who made that comment without looking it up? Unfortunately for Nebraska, its obvious the days of dominance and national recognition are over after that showing against Maine. Throw Nebraska into the A-10(1AA)and theres a good chance they lose one and maybe even 2 games in 1AA per season. While Maine is no slouch when it comes to 1AA, they are middle of the pack at best in conference, yet the only major difference in this game appeared to be your D Line(sacks). Without that and without homefield, there is a good chance Nebraska loses this one. How much does that say about where the program is now? Sorry to step on all your rose colored glasses, but good luck the rest of the season because you're gonna need it. Quote Link to comment
CoachKevin
The D-Line wasn't great last night. It was the LB play that created majority of the sacks. When the Huskers only rushed the 4 DL, they did not get Pressure. The LB's group is the strong point of this Team. Quote Link to comment

Ruud is good but man it would of been great to have both them out there at same time. Dline is poor in my opinion and corners are poor. Quote Link to comment
StuckinChicago
What are you guys talking about??? Carriker (2 sacks), Moore (1 sack), Turner (2 sacks) were in the damn backfield the whole game!!! The reason our linebackers picked up sacks is because you had to double team our line to stop them from being five yards into the backfield on every play. The only reason you scored is because we brought in a lousy fourth stringer who shouldnt be playing for one play and he fell down. You guys couldnt play you way out of a wet paper bag on offense. There is no way we ever lose that game. Quote Link to comment
skersfan
We had to blitz to get one sack, we could not get into their backfield without double rushes from the ends by backers. We got late sacks by the DL, but Maine held them out most of the game. We are in major trouble this year. We would have lost to anyone else on our schedule last nite and include Baylor. We have more problems on the defense than we had last year. Quote Link to comment
StuckinChicago
One of Turner's sacks came when we were in the Nickel and dropped 8 into coverage. All of the d line's sacks came when one of our guys beat one of theirs one on one. Carriker ran over their tackle (so there was no blitzing backer on that side) for both sacks, and Moore ran around a tackle (once again no blitzing backer on the outside. I dont know what game you were watching, but I saw only two blitzes the entire game that involved at least 6 guys coming. Most of the time it was five, or a backer played zone and came up when the quarterback was flushed. Our O line was the only unit that scared me. We should have been able to run over that front seven, but our guys got no push. Quote Link to comment
NU fan in Denver
I agree with Bernard that the corners need some more work, especially Grix. When the QB had time he got picked on. Green did ok, they made some plays, but hardly any db looked for the ball when it was in the air. They faceguarded their receivers. We got lucky in that Maine receivers dropped a few passes that should have been caught. Didn't see a real hardhitting game out there. Didn't see anyone layin the wood. Disappointed we didn't cause more turnovers. Or at least get a pick in the Secondary. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
get used to seeing grix getting picked on......as i said earlier, he is way too small to play heads up against a big wideout (hell, Iowa has cheerleaders bigger than he is!) and he will get beat alot this year.....he better enjoy his college days, 'cause at 165 lbs. he has no future in the NFL......"windshield/bug syndrom".....nice kid, just too small, giving away too much size to be a shut down guy....... hunter Quote Link to comment
