So much so, in fact, that his own relative on the team was unaware of their connection. Last September, NU receiver Brandon Kinnie was at a movie when his mother texted him. That conversation led to the discovery that Evans was his cousin. It's that competition that fuels Evans. He'll be only a sophomore this fall, but he's a front-runner to replace All-American Prince Amukamara at cornerback.
