US & UK plan to attack Iran

Recommended Posts

A few observations:

The various kind-of governments representing the Arab Palestinians have, and continue, to state that the destruction/elimination of Israel is one of their objectives. They state it in various ways, one of the sneakiest, is to say something like they want a return to "X year's borders" and that year pre-dates the creation of Israel.

Hamas does not recognize Israel because it does not recognize its current borders as legitimate.

Then again, Israel does not recognize Palestine's right to exist... as evidenced by their military occupation and blockade of an open air concentration camp.

Which Arabs "want a return to "X year's borders" and that year pre-dates the creation of Israel"?

Israel usually contacts us before they take action. We have talked them out of taking direct action in the past, or at least into modifying their plans. But our relationship has deteriorated during the Obama administration that I'm sure admin officials are, and should be, worried about Israel taking action and not giving us a heads up. We've lost our ability to influence them because we've lost their trust. That is not only unfortunate, it's dangerous.

So we approved the Cast Lead massacre and the invasion of Lebanon?

Wow, that speaks very poorly of our government.

"The dumbest piece of anecdotal evidence you have ever heard." You must not get out much in cheeseland ? Oh well , I have seen your trolling and realize that dumb follows you around . As far as what I stated here , guess we will see ..stay tuned .. Wonder if anyone has cosied up to you on this board with our Wisconsin ID and smart arsed ramblings ? Guess they dont want you around on a Wisconsin board ? Wonder why ? Next time you decide to deride something you know nothing about , or challenge someones opinion , try LISTENING first , as in listening to the broadcast link I gave you , and then give thought to it , and THEN give an opinion. But that is not why you are here , right ? You find yourself clever in trolling ? Sure , everyone here thinks you are REAL CLEVER ...

No sir heard this from a retired special ops guy around a year ago on the Texas overnight show with Charley Jones. We arent going to invade Iran , but we are going to small scale nuke them back into the ABDULLAH days ... count on it ..If we keep our military machine in Iraq the machinery will be radiated so they are momentarily moving it out of the way . Time will tell ..Would have already been done , but they are worried about Russias response .

This....may be... the dumbest piece of anecdotal evidence I have ever heard. I must be missing the funny.

Nice way of responding to that, very classy. I like how you defended yourself without lowering the level of conversation to petty insults. It really shows your level of maturity that you were able to do that.

Oh and something I know nothing about? That's funny. You have no idea about my education, where I've been and how I earn a living.

Look, I didn't insult you, your background, or your opinion; just the legitimacy of your evidence. I simply found your story laughable. Getting inside information about a potential war from some guy who claims to be SF at some show in Texas and then bringing that in as evidence...really? You're better than that.

If I had a dollar for every kid I've seen off post telling people he was sf.....

Sorry about that... in seeing some old names I regressed back a bit in my posting to where feces flinging in a monkey cage was the accepted norm.

.

From what I have read Hamas does not recognize Israel because it does not recognize its current borders as legitimate. Have you watched any of the Doha Debates?

In addition, which Arabs "want a return to "X year's borders" and that year pre-dates the creation of Israel"?

Israel does not recognize Palestine's right to exist... as evidenced by their military occupation and blockade of Gaza an open air concentration camp. If you had the authority to settle the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, how whould you do that?

.

Did you approve of the invasion of Lebanon in 2006, Operation Cast Lead against Gaza in 2008, and the blockade of Gaza that has been ongoing since?

This article suggests that Iran already has some old Soviet nukes, however consider the source...

http://debka.com/article/21455/

... What Zarey may be referring to are the stubborn rumors going around Western intelligence circles since early 2005 that during the breakup of the Soviet Union, Tehran laid hands on black market nuclear cruise missiles form the Ukraine and 3 to 5 more from Belarus.

debkafile cites a BBC report of March 18, 2005: Ukrainian arms dealers smuggled 18 nuclear-capable cruise missiles to Iran and China in 1999-2001, Ukraine's prosecutor-general has said. The Soviet-era Kh-55 missiles - also known as X-55s - have a maximum range of 2,500km. They are launched by long-range bombers. The Kh-55, known in the West as the AS-15, is designed to carry a nuclear warhead with a 200-kiloton yield. Our military sources add that with these missiles in hand, Iranian warplanes could bombard Israel 1,200 kilometers away without leaving their own air space. The Ukrainian prosecutor-generalclaimed at the time that the missiles were not exported with nuclear warheads. However our sources cite Western intelligence as suspecting that Tehran obtained those warheads from Belarus or from unconventional arms traffickers based in the Muslim Republics which were part of the USSR up until the 1990s.

YOUR OWN QUOTE COPIED AND PASTED :

"Look, I didn't insult you, your background, or your opinion; just the legitimacy of your evidence." YOUR PREVIOUS QUOTE COPIED AND PASTED :

"This....may be... the dumbest piece of anecdotal evidence I have ever heard." Other than calling my opinion DUMB which was just backed up by a former 30 green beret , special ops and intelligence guy , I can see your point about name calling ....Thank you for making my response so easy ...Again I can tell by your response that you didnt listen to the linked radio show ...

YOUR OWN QUOTE COPIED AND PASTED :

"You're better than that." Thank you ! I return your favorable remark. Sorry if I was a little heavy handed in my last response ...Wisconsin has a good team this year , boy the Big 10 is brutal !

I believe the US Army retired all of the nuclear artillery weapons in the early 1990s, but I I was unaware that they had retired all of the US nuke-tipped SSMs.

Secondly, having been involved in some NUWEP planning myself, the idea of a senior enlisted man having access to various oplans is not all that unusual, particularly with the overall reduction of officers in the military services. Very often, MSgts are doing the work preciously performed by Captains in today's Air Force.

BTW, I stopped and thought about this "stuff" before I posted.

Good post Yos, and it's nice to see you again.

While I would agree that we have hundreds of contingencies for the use of battlefield nukes that would be known by officers to the MSgt level, but what is going on in Iran is not worth the potential blowback. And no way in heck do we launch a surface to surface missile.

Good informative thread. But, I have to ask Sub a question since he made the accusation. Is it nice to see Yos or not. Apparently, when he didn't agree with you you had a different opinion. See your quote below.

Sub~ "Yossarian shows up, and conversational tones start to go down hill." Exactly, how I described you in an earlier post. If you don't agree with someone the tone goes down hill!

Oops... the IAEA report was wrong...

http://www.juancole.com/2011/11/the-little-iran-nuclear-report-that-couldnt.html

A key allegation in the IAEA report on Iranian nuclear activities has fallen apart. Gareth Porter has been able to use interviews and other material to demonstrate that Vyacheslav Danilenko, a Russian scientist referred to without being identified in the report, is not a nuclear weapons expert. His field is nanotechnology (making tiny machines), and Iran has been looking into making diamonds with nanotechnology, bypassing the middle man.
