knapplc
LINK Hannah Werth, a junior outside hitter for then-No. 4 University of Nebraska, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. She recorded a double-double in both matches last week in four-set wins over then-No. 19 Minnesota and Wisconsin. Against the Golden Gophers, she recorded 14 kills while hitting .379 and tacked on 17 digs. The Illinois native continued playing at a high level against the Badgers, nailing another 14 kills and digging 13 balls. For the week, she averaged 3.5 kills and 3.8 digs per set and hit .323 to help the Huskers jump to the No. 2 spot in the latest AVCA Coaches Top-25 Poll. This honor marks the 12th time an athlete from Nebraska has received the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week award, with the most recent coming the week of November 10, 2009 when Sydney Anderson took home the honor. The Huskers are coached by John Cook. Quote Link to comment
