I don't know, sounds like he couldn't make his mind up, make a quick decision under pressure to announce, and then realized he had made a mistake. I am not a big fan of the hat routine in general, and I know his choice confused and upset a lot of people, but I am not sure it was an attention ploy. Quote Link to comment

Ahhhh. Maybe I misinterpreted the article. I took this to mean that his roommate was interfacing with social media friends--Facebook pals and tweeters--while nobody was making any noise about his TT decision.
