Could this be Bo's TO moment?

We could start Armstrong and then complain about him not being enough of a leader ;)

That definitely wouldn't happen. Armstrong was a leader before he even put on the NU jersey. He helped a lot with our recruiting, as Bandares is doing the same. He helped a lot of kids make their minds up on committing here, like Jordan Westerkamp, which will be a key WR for us in the future. We just want him to be ready when he goes in, like reading the defense and making corrects adjustments when needed. We pull Martinez now, you ruin that relationship that is built on the offense, which makes them explosive. Armstrong doesn't have the chemistry and would have to develop the trust and figure out who his "go to" receivers would be. Its too late in the season to make a change, and would be completely pointless to burn a red shirt, to put us in the same position we are in now. #TeamMartinez

Not true, TO made the change in the 6th game. Frazier played some in the games after the Washington game but then started the Missouri game.. and stayed there. As a freshman.

I say the heck with the redshirt. If he is anywhere near the talent some think he is (and we all want him to be), he won't be here for the full five anyway. College football is becoming "how can you contribute now", not in three or four years. Kids are coming out of high school programs that are so much more advanced then they were even 10 years ago. Kids can step in as true freshman and play, you see it every weekend.

I don't think TM should be pulled at this point, but I sure would like to see some snaps (meaningful ones) for Armstrong this year so he can compete for the job next year (if anyone really believes that there will be competition for the starting job next year). When you bring in the supposed big time talents, get them out there and see what they do for you now.

Yes I am aware of that, but your comparing a kid you don't know how he can play, to an elite athlete, and rare talent. Not saying Armstrong isn't good, or is a rare athlete, but the pros outweigh the cons. Just because fans are pissy, and want to blame a game on Martinez, that doesn't justify burning a red shirt to make fans happy. But then again, if we lost, people would be crying and complaining about the same thing over again.

He will be here for the full 5. The kid committed to us his Junior year, and didn't even look at another school. Its rare to find a kid with priorities first, and this is one. Armstrong is too good for a clean up guy this year and ruin two years of him being a starter. He will be clean up guy next year, then starter in 2014 as Johnny Stanton will be a RF.

Trying to pin this team's troubles on any one specific area is a huge mistake. There are so many things that need to be fixed right now, but it's all cyclical. If the defense doesn't give up big plays and touchdowns, our offense can run its own tempo. If our offense can run its own tempo, Taylor doesn't have to throw the ball every play (though there have been situations where Taylor didn't have to throw the ball every play but was called on to do so anyway, which brings Beck into the fold). If Taylor doesn't have to throw the ball, he won't throw interceptions. If Taylor doesn't throw interceptions, our defense spends more time resting on the sidelines and less time on the field sucking wind. If our defense spends more time resting on the sidelines and less time on the field sucking wind, it's easier to make stops. If it's easier to make stops, our defense won't give up big plays and touchdowns.

Now, granted, it's not always that simple. Sometimes our defense makes boneheaded mistakes and gives up big plays anyway. Sometimes Taylor makes boneheaded throws in situations where the defense isn't even sold out on pass coverage. The fact is, it's easier to play well when your team has momentum, and if one side gives up the mighty MO, it can be difficult for the other side to get it back. Great teams can, but the Huskers aren't a great team right now.

Yes, Taylor's part of the problem, but replacing him won't fix the problem if the other parts aren't addressed. It'll only make us start calling for replacements further down the depth chart.

Before we switch quarterbacks, maybe we should patch up our O-line and TE blocking techniques. Can't have DE come in untouched on a three man blitz.

Defense?

More speed. Better tackling. Break down and put a helmet on a ball carrier.

Fix those and we will be fine. Continue to have inconsistent O-line play and terrible tackling on defense and we will struggle.

I understand your point but it is rather silly (no offense meant).. Hell, if they just outlawed passing all together Taylor wouldn't throw ints either. The point is he does throw the ball, which is part of our offense, and the ints usually happens in critical points in the game... against GOOD teams. Those ints then put a heavy burden on the defense. The defense was doing pretty good until a certain point in the game Saturday.. which also happen to be when certain things started to happen to our QB.

Like I said, Martinez still makes boneheaded decisions, but I don't think it's always him that starts the downward cycle.

38 points should be enough to win. But these type of games are about momentum. We should know that as well as anyone. We turned the tide on them last year and in a similar span came back and won the game. South Carolina flipped it on us and dominated from there on. Michigan did the same thing after a fumble to start the half. Wisconsin last year. Oklahoma in the championship game. It's about momentum. We are not capable of turning it when we're on the road. And we seem completely incapable of maintaining it when we have it. Becks' "fast, faster, and as fast as we can go until we're completely out of control" offense might put up gaudy numbers against 70+ ranked defenses, but there's a point when you're on the road in a big game that you have to adjust the tempo for the situation. OSU turned the tide on this year and dominated us from there on out. All you people defending Taylor to the end (and I certainly am not saying he's the only issue) need to look at when/what changed that momentum. It wasn't the defense. I'll give you a hint, the 'when' is with 10:45 minutes left in the half, and the 'what' was an interception. And it continued throughout the game peaking at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Well said about the road problems as we are 3-8 in our last 11 road games.....and now we get another mobile QB on the road....it's not likely to be pretty.

This!!! It really is as simple as this. I don't know if it is simple to fix for sure but it really is the basic need so we can compete against high calliber opponents.

There is zero, I repeat zero chance that Bo will start anyone but Martinez the rest of the season. The problem with this NU team is predominantly on defense. It's been poor for the last several seasons. The scheme does not fit the personel that NU currently has. That coupled with poor tackling, lack of creating turnovers and giving up big plays has routinely taken NU out of big games. Until Nebraska finds a defense that can consistently stop mobile QB's and teams with strong running games, we will be an average team in the Big Ten.
