knapplc
After trouncing Wisconsin 3-0 and taking down #10 Minnesota 3-1, the Huskers dropped a spot in the AVCA Coaches poll this week, from 3rd to 4th - jumped by both Oregon and Stanford. Oregon defeated woeful Washington State 3-0, then took down previously-unbeaten and #2-ranked Washington 3-1. I'll give the Ducks this - that's an impressive victory. Stanford defeated #7 USC 3-0 on Wednesday last week, then followed that up with a 3-2 win over #6 UCLA. Stanford is currently #1 in the RPI rankings. They're a force this year. While it's never fun to be jumped in the polls, the season is still somewhat young and the situation is fluid. Crucially, we're sitting at #3 in the RPI, and we've only got two losses. We have Penn State at home still to come. Win that match and we should have a pretty good chance to not only win the Big Ten, but earn a top-four seed in the tournament. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
That is a perfect example of why polls are totally meaningless. Quote Link to comment
