And it's been hammered over and over. 3 Quote Link to comment

They are going to keep themselves out of post season play until this whole thing is resolved. Quote Link to comment

Be honest with yourself. It was actually probably a pretty easy decision for him. I think Shawn's going to work out fine for us. All he really has to do is get along with every one and sustain. 1 Quote Link to comment

Oh I hope so. However I distrust Miami Thugs background including AD job I think he took the job thinking if he could right the ship and get them back to the top he would be the most wanted AD in the country. I'm sure he knew it would take awhile, however, I really believe when he got there it was a much bigger mess than the Miami Bosses led on. Soooo.......when a school like Nebraska comes calling, who is a money making machine with no history of severe violations, I'm thinking that's a really easy move. Not to mention, he wasn't a southern guy or anything. He's from Wisconsin and Alvarez is his mentor. No brainer move for him with his history. 1 Quote Link to comment

Stickney
If you go read some of the articles when Eichorst was hired by NU it was rather clear that Miami did not inform him of the looming scandal during the his interview process at the U. Instead it was dropped on him soon after he started. So, he wasn't party to the issues AND Miami misrepresented itself to him when they hired him. I think that is fair grounds to leave the scene of the crimes for "honest" employment. 3 Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
It's also pretty obvious that Shawn was going to use Miami as a stepping stone. Quote Link to comment
Hooked on Huskers
Bottom line and believe it or not, I didn't like Harvey's bad decisions. Hired Steve Pederson, and then Callaclown backer, and finally, Shawn. I say "Three strikes.....you're out!" I admit my brain is stubborn, for example, I still refuses to buy Japanese products (WWII family history). DelK
My only problem with the "he didn't know what a mess he would have" at Miami is that no wise person takes a job without knowing what he faces. Could due diligence have given him the picture? Quote Link to comment
Stickney
My only problem with the "he didn't know what a mess he would have" at Miami is that no wise person takes a job without knowing what he faces. Could due diligence have given him the picture? Yeah, I don't necessarily disagree. I don't think there was much out there for him to investigate. Miami is a private school and in Miami where there isn't always a media focus. From what I have read and read between the lines, I think Miami was surfing a rather slippery slope and knowingly left Eichorst hanging in the wind. That being said, this is big boy business and I think both Miami and Eichorst did what I would expect -- Miami withheld info and Eichorst chose not to be "loyal." I understand both sides. There may be plenty of ammo in the future on which to criticize Eichorst, I just don't think the Miami situation fits into that category. Quote Link to comment
