GSG
Thanks guys! I don't think most of the usual hockey guys post very much anymore. I know walks doesn't. This cracked me up though: 1 Quote Link to comment

GSG
Karlsson has been a beast in the playoffs Erik Karlsson Put The Senators On His Back If you want a measure of how valuable defenseman Erik Karlsson is to the Ottawa Senators, all you need to do is look at how much they use him. Karlsson led all skaters in ice time with 28:44—he was out there for very nearly half of Ottawa’s clinching Game 6 win over New York. With the Senators clinging to a one-goal lead late and the Rangers surging, it was nothing but Karlsson. He skated a 2:30 shift, then came off for 53 seconds; skated a 1:42 shift, then came off for 57 seconds; skated 2:22 until the final horn sounded. He’s doing this all, mind you, with two fractures in his heel, neither of which stopped him from averaging better than a point per game in these playoffs. He was the first star in last night’s 4-2 win, and an early Conn Smythe favorite, and he lives for this. 1 Quote Link to comment
GSG
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sggaDJE7T5Q Scott Wilson And Brooks Orpik Throw Hands In First Game 7 Fight In 24 Years Capitals Choke Yet Again Through the first six games of their series with the Penguins, the Capitals were the superior team. They outshot the Pens by 11 shots per game through Game 6, and entered Game 7 on a high, winning the previous two games and scoring nine goals in the process. Naturally, they faceplanted, just like they did last year. One year to the day after getting booted by the Penguins in the second round, Washington ate it again. The three-time Presidents’ Trophy winners and heavy Stanley Cup favorites still have yet to make it past the second round during the Alex Ovechkin era. It wasn’t as painful as last year’s sudden-death loss, but the Caps repeatedly wasted opportunities while allowing two relatively cheap goals after turning the puck over. GSG
Ducks hold off the Oilers to advance. Future is bright for Edmonton though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK7XBbIgFUQ 1 Quote Link to comment
GSG
So Much For The Ducks' Demons Capitals fans, don’t read this ... Ducks fans thrilled to have finally broken a playoff curse, hello. Four straight seasons Anaheim had taken a 3-2 series lead, only to drop Game 6 on the road and then Game 7 at home. On Sunday, with a 3-2 series lead, the Ducks went into Edmonton and got pasted. Last night, with everything lined up for yet another crushing Game 7 loss, the Ducks...won. They came back from an 0-2 series hole, and a deficit just 3:31 into the elimination game, to win 2-1 and advance? Whose Ducks are these? Maybe all past is just prologue, eventually. Mavric
I wasn't sure if it was just me but it sure seems like there haven't been much for close games in the NBA. I don't really watch hockey at all but sometimes watch the third period of playoff games if I catch one one. Maybe have to try to find a couple here..... Quote Link to comment

GSG
Phil Kessel Yelled A Lot And Scored Phil Kessel is relatable, which is a nice way of saying that he’s large and goofy. But as with all world-class athletes, we must resist the urge to see too much of our pathetic selves in him. Kessel is, obviously, one of the most talented offensive players in hockey—he’s quietly having a hell of a postseason, now up to 14 points in 14 games after scoring the lone goal in Pittsburgh’s Game 2 win—and his very visible frustrations, with himself and with his teammates, were a rare glimpse of what that Penguins locker room knows: He’s hypercompetitive even in a world of hypercompetitors. Hug him at your own peril when he’s fired up. (I’d try anyway.) Quote Link to comment
GSG
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlCvhbvWZVo Nashville Is A Great Place To Play Hockey For about 20 minutes of Game 3, the Predators were unstoppable. Filip Forsberg scored the tying goal 3:54 into the third period, and Roman Josi netted the power-play winner with 2:43 left, and in between were two goals waved off for goaltender interference. Throughout, the Predators surged, doubling up the Ducks on shots on goal in the game, 40-20. If the ice was tilted, some credit has to go to the roiling sea of yellow helicoptering towels and screaming its heads off every night. Nashville now has a 10-game home winning streak in the playoffs, dating back to last season, the best since the Red Wings won 10 straight in Detroit in 1997 and ‘98 en route to a pair of Stanley Cups. It’s a weird thing to say—though it gets less weird with every game and every year—but there’s a real home-ice advantage in Nashville. 1 Quote Link to comment
