Thanks_Tom RR
Does anyone remember what Dejon Gomes ran for the 40 at the combine? If I remember correctly he was up in the 4.6's as well but he was one of the best coverage guys we've ever had. Some people are able to make up for being a little slower with timing and anticipation, and technique obviously. Agreed, but Gomes was a little faster than that, recorded at 4.53 sec. Yeah I couldn't remember exactly how fast he was. I just knew he wasn't in the 4.4's. Haag was about the same right? Quote Link to comment

Thanks for looking both of those up. Yes I would love to have everyone on the defense to run a 4.4 or lower, but I understand that speed isn't everything. Phil Dillard is another, yeah he was a linebacker but he definitely wasn't the fastest. It seemed like he was everywhere though because of his instincts and anticipation. Quote Link to comment
HuskerFowler
Not alot of people can run a true electronic 4.5 or under 40. Larenzo Stewart ran a 4.36 on film, that's very rare. Quote Link to comment
