Mavric
Were we not talking about a federal program? The National Review article was talking about farm welfare. You didn't specify which taxes you were talking about until later. The thread topic lists a federal program. My original comment you responded to talked about paying into a "system" and receiving out of the "system." I thought that was indicative enough but perhaps not. Link to comment
carlfense
My original comment you responded to talked about paying into a "system" and receiving out of the "system." No . . . it didn't say that. I've quoted it in it's entirety below. You said, ". . . the program has resource and income requirements such that the taxes they are paying are little to none." Now you'd like to specify certain taxes. I wonder why. Because the program has resource and income requirements such that the taxes they are paying are little to none. Link to comment

Lot's of familiar names on the lists . . . and I'm stunned that people that I personally know to be anti-government, small "c" conservatives have accepted millions of dollars in taxpayer money. Anyways, let's get back to those food stamp takers. 1 Link to comment

scarletNcream
I should have posted this link too to complete this conversation. http://www.fns.usda....SNAPsummary.htm now just take the average costs of both, stamps by the way are $133 per person for a total of $74 million and crop insurance $15.8 billion Link to comment

Yes, when you edit out the context of my posts, it doesn't say that anymore. Here is the reassembled, unedited thread: Yes and no. The farmers are still (in theory) paying into the system then getting some back out - although it wouldn't hurt to actually accomplish something on the tax code in general and exemptions in particular. I wouldn't expect food stamp recipients to be paying much or any into the system. How so? Because the program has resource and income requirements such that the taxes they are paying are little to none. Link to comment
carlfense
Yes, when you edit out the context of my posts, it doesn't say that anymore. Completely unedited, actually. In fact, it's still visible if you scroll up. Link to comment

Mavric
Funny how you are fond of challenging people with sanctimonious posts about being sure they won't admit that they were wrong. Interesting how the story changes when the shoe is on the other foot. Link to comment

Looks like that was around a half hour before you said that they pay little to no taxes. You could always edit it if you'd like to change your statement? Link to comment
