Grape Julius
Agree with those saying Iowa doesn't deserve the game. Their fans don't seem to understand that it's not the football team's responsibility to provide them with convenient game times and travel options--the Black Friday game is about unique exposure for the program, becoming a name brand to recruits, etc. I do respect the Iowa program for getting more out of their resources historically than, say, Illinois or Michigan State, but their admins, coaches, and fan base are just far too comfortable with a 7 win program, and that's not the mindset we want for the Heroes game. Wisconsin is good right now, but they'll fall back to the pack soon enough and their ceiling isn't much higher than Iowa (and Iowa usually beats them head-to-head). My vote would be for Penn State. They lack a natural rivalry in the BIG anyway, and that could end up being a game with a lot on the line for both programs each year. Quote Link to comment
np_husker
Wisconsin on Thanksgiving Day each year would be awesome. Didn't Barry Alvarez lobby for that? Quote Link to comment
okaive
Iowa. A nice stress free game to end the season. and it's close, for those fans in Nebraska that travel to the game. Any farther and people would have to be traveling on Thanksgiving. If I can drive 6 1/2 hrs to watch the game at home, then people can drive to watch the away game. Quote Link to comment
