It'sNotAFakeID
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/is-the-us-stock-market-rigged/ This month marks the fifth anniversary of the current bull market on Wall Street, making it one of the longest and strongest in history. Yet U.S. stock ownership is at a record low and less than half of Americans trust banks and financial services. And in the last two weeks, the New York attorney general and the Commodities Futures Trading Commission in Washington have both launched investigations into high-frequency computerized stock trading that now controls more than half the market. For those of you who do own and trade stock (myself soon included), this is a good read. Quote Link to comment

strigori
http://thedailyshow.cc.com/extended-interviews/o7grtj/exclusive-michael-lewis-extended-interview Here's an amazing interview regarding the high frequency trading. And the short answer is, yes it is rigged right now. Quote Link to comment
RedRedJarvisRedwine
I hope it stays rigged if it is. I've done very well over the last 8 years. Quote Link to comment
NUance
I don't think the market itself is rigged. Unless you include insider trading part of being "rigged". There is a LOT of insider trading going on. That, and a lot of technical analysis on mysterious price moves that exacerbates the effect of the insider trading. Quote Link to comment
