Nebraska football location

Recommended Posts

Your friend asked a silly question. College football teams don't need "big cities" to be successful. Most college towns are close to population centers, but also away from big cities. Some college towns that are also in state capitols can grow into big cities (Austin, Madison, Columbus) but most state colleges aren't in the biggest cities of the state.

The argument can be made that it would help recruiting.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

please make that argument....airports aside...

Why would airports be aside? That's really the main benefit I would think would be used to argue that it could help recruiting.
Yes, but NU has their recruits fly into Omaha. So it wouldn't make a difference by being in Omaha.

Almost all of Nebraska recruits fly into Omaha to begin with. They get picked up by hosts/hostesses and are then driven to Lincoln.

Correct. Due to the length of time to commute to Lincoln in consideration of the game times and arrival times, its been mentioned that it makes it tougher to get recruits to the start of some games.
