Huskers44
Pelini was in a better boat I think. We are a solid team we are just weak on defense and our running backs are way below what we usually have. Everything else is pretty good. We need a good LB and DL class and a good RB and we will be fine. I love what we have on defense right now, we just need depth at LB and DE. Quote Link to comment
roadrat
The problem is Bo had a crappy inexperienced coaching staff and he had only himself to blame. Look how bad Watson's play calling was and compare to the experienced staff Riley was able to bring with him. Everyone's comments about the 2008 team are spot-on. These players wanted a new coach as much as the fanbase did as well. Quote Link to comment
teachercd
The only thing I hate about this is that we were told Riley has down MORE with LESS for years... Now that he has "less" he is not doing "more" If he was winning with the 80th ranked classes at OSU one would think he would be doing the same at NU. I think they walked into the same situation...for the most part both are well liked...both were looked at as "needed" and in the end I think Riley ends up with a really good record this first year.
