Just looking back at some History.....

Recommended Posts

Since I wasn't a part of the board at the time I wanted to see how it was during Callahan's first year and the similarities are almost horrifying to what's happening right now.

First we're going to look at the hiring of Bill Callahan.

Concerns about the west coast system. And if you look post #4 they talk about Solich, and how he wasn't fired because "He only won 9 games", and how there were other issues within the program. Eerily similar. But hey there's good feelings because Bill Romanowski and Jim Harbaugh have nice things to say about Callahan

In this one, walksalone, who correctly predicted that we're f#@!ed in another thread this past year, complains about Callahan throwing the ball on 3rd and 3. Sound familiar?

And here we are talking about Cosgrove's former team thankful that their defensive coordinator is gone...hmmm much like Oregon St. feels with Banker. Very odd.

Just wanted to throw this in, it's a thread criticizing Pelini.....some things never change.

I mean c'mon....this is basically the 3-6, "9 win" debate we're having now

Ah yes, here we have a thread where posters are calling out players for quitting. Much like they've been accused of this year. They also talk about how Callahan is bringing in a good recruiting class and finding guys that will fit his system because you know, that will take us to the promised land....

And last, but not least we have a thread about Perlman. The link in the thread unfortunately doesn't work, but it's an interview after the season is over so I'm sure you can imagine what was said. He's been the one constant this whole time.

Honestly, I feel like this guy from South Park right now

Obviously I hope the end result isn't the same as Callahan's was and Riley somehow pulls this team out of the gutter and can win a conference championship like he was brought here to do. But there is one consistent theme during all of this....Harvey Perlman leaving Nebraska will be the best thing for this program.
