cornographic
So, wassup with TX? What happened there? Anybody? A. Recruiting is about relationships (see Langs comments about his close relationship with POB's HS coach) and this staff has few to none in Texas. B. There's less of a story to tell nowadays to a Texas kid. Under the B12, and even the B8, at least once or twice a year a kid would be playing close to home, even if he went to NU. That's not the case anymore. Makes it much harder to recruit (and retain) those guys. Meh, we gotta get back into Tejas. I'm sure there are 2-3 TX guys at least that would be glad to come to NU. It's going to be harder and harder to do. NU hasn't played in Texas since 2010. Baylor, TCU, and Houston are becoming attractive alternatives within the state. Meanwhile, A&M is using the fact that they play in the SEC to their advantage, and the other SEC schools are using A&M as an in to come recruit Texas. Hmm, I see that tOSU, MI, PSU, MSU, and IA had zero recruits from TX. Wiscy has 1 2* TX guy and Minny has a couple. However, we have the best geographic proximity and history in TX, so I say we use that to our advantage. I have faith. Quote Link to comment
cm husker
Our history in Texas, at least the most meaningful part, is 20 years and 4 football staffs ago. It means nothing. Quote Link to comment

I cribbed some of that from a Jon Nyatawa tweet, but I added my thoughts about the SEC and A&M. Quote Link to comment
