Mavric
Quote But what Nebraska’s offense lacks is a clear identity. It’s in between encouraging more 3-pointers and preaching hesitation. Coaches want players to take open 3s, but they want the best open 3 and not to shoot too quickly in a shot clock. Nebraska takes about 16 seconds of the 30-second shot clock, the 68th quickest in the country. That’s not what Miles wants. And that paradox of encouraging taking open shots and wanting to hit the brakes shows up in games like Saturday’s — Nebraska shot 4 for 20 from the 3-point line, yet won by more than 20. It’s a win. But at times, the quick shots led to runs from Western Illinois to get back into the game. Nebraska wants to be a 3-point shooting team, but they’re 9 for 43 in the past two games. So what’s Nebraska’s identity? OWH 1 Quote Link to comment
ECisGod
If they could convince Palmer to stop shooting so many 3's they'd be OK. They actually aren't a bad shooting team if you exclude Palmer. With Palmer they are shooting 32.9%. If you exclude him the rest of the team is shooting 37.1 and if you exclude Thor & Costello who only play in junk time and are a combined 2/10 it's 38.6. Miles needs to sit down with Palmer and tell him to stop shooting 6.5 3's per game. I'd be OK with 1-2, but 6.5 is WAY too many for him. Quote Link to comment

Michigan looked like they were running the Nebraska offense for about the last 10 minutes of their game against Northwestern the other night. But yes, normally they look much, much better. It's the difference between an offensive minded coach (Beilein) who brought in a defensive minded coach (Saddi Washington) to be his lead assistant & a defensive minded coach (Miles) who has a defensive minded coach as his lead assistant (Jim Molinari). 2 Quote Link to comment
