HuskermanMike
Need to offer this kid. We got Roby for one more year maybe two if lucky and then he is gone. Wingett plays a similar type of role except not at the five, more of a four at the D1 level. No idea if we have any interest or not but it would not hurt to add depth. We may need a center depending on Jordy and where they project Heiman will play in the future. Quote Link to comment
seaofred92
https://247sports.com/college/memphis/Article/Shooting-Guard-David-Wingett-to-Memphis-Looking-Promising-118069910 Quote According to a source, the Memphis Tigers landing shooting guard David Wingett is looking more and more likely and news could come as soon as today. Wingett is part of the class of 2018 after he reclassified from 2017. He played his post-graduate year at Bull City Prep where he averaged 25.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. The 6-foot-7 wing shot 74.5 percent from three-point range on 5 threes per game according to the Bull City Prep website. Team Loaded, Memphis signee Isaiah Maurice's former AAU team, had Wingett run with them before it was clear he didn't need to play with them any longer. He averaged 14.2 points and 7.2 rebounds while shooting well from three-point range. Offers from Auburn, Eastern Michigan, High Point, Louisiana Tech, Missouri, South Dakota State, Stetson, Towson, UTEP and Wichita State have rolled in while 40-plus schools have sent out feelers about Wingett. 1 Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
I think that bridge was burned a while ago and honestly with some of the chirping(mainly message board), I think work ethic was a concern. I hope he does well and it clicks, but I am ok with passing on him. Good luck to him at Memphis. That should be a fun team. Quote Link to comment
