  1. These protestors have already ruined in person learning and graduation ceremonies at some schools. Now professors want to hurt kids that have nothing to do with these protests. Maybe some of these students need those grades to graduate this month. I would just fire them. The semester is almost over, some schools are online. Just empty the campus so the protestors have no one to bother. The media should ignore them, like a little kid throwing a tantrum.
  2. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/05/05/pro-palestinian-protests-columbia-university-funding-donors-00156135 Is politico on the right or left? I have been asking were the funding is coming from for these protests. If this was Fox I would expect this answer. If politico is on the left, I guess they are saying these protests are counter productive to Biden's reelection, so why are his backers funding them? "President Joe Biden has been dogged for months by pro-Palestinian protesters calling him “Genocide Joe” — but some of the groups behind the demonstrations receive financial backing from philanthropists pushing hard for his reelection. The donors include some of the biggest names in Democratic circles: Soros, Rockefeller and Pritzker, according to a POLITICO analysis."
  3. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/04/30/voters-views-of-trump-and-biden-differ-sharply-by-religion/ Catholics are turning toward Trump. Hispanic Catholics are 47% Trump vs. 28% in 2020. Biden still holds the lead at 49% for Hispanic Catholics.
  4. This is awesome. Stopping a black UCLA student from going to the library. I am sure he did it on purpose to expose them. Mission accomplished. How is stopping other students from using campus and shutting down graduation ceremonies a protected form of protest? UCLA is weak. https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/29/us/video/ucla-student-pushback-protests-gaza-encampment-digvid
  5. It's not all students. Some are probably getting used. "NYPD arrested 282 protesters during a raid on Thursday, of which 134 had no affiliation with either school, the Post reported, citing law enforcement sources. Mayor Eric Adams has repeatedly warned that "outside agitators" had infiltrated the anti-Israel encampments and were responsible for radicalizing students. "“What was given to me by my team, a preliminary review of the numbers, just the beginning process of analyzing, but it appears, though, that over 40% of those who participated in Columbia and CUNY were not from the school and they were outsiders,” Adams told NPR in an interview. Earlier, the mayor had said professional agitators were responsible for the occupation of Hamilton Hall at Columbia University, in addition to students. "This is a global problem that young people are being influenced by those who are professionals at radicalizing our children and I’m not going to allow that to happen as the mayor of the city of New York,” he said Wednesday." Welcome to the party Mayor. I would bet a steak dinner that these are the same agitators from 2020, that decided it was time to leave mommy's basement again. They just forced UCLA to go remote. I am happy to report that both of my kids in college are taking finals, or have finished finals, in a normal college environment without protests.
  6. “It used to be you would go home at the end of the day, most people would go, ‘Oh, 'Cheers' is on,” he told the publication. “‘Oh, 'M.A.S.H.' is on, oh, 'Mary Tyler Moore' is on. ... You just expected, there’ll be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight. Well, guess what? Where is it? This is the result of the extreme left and PC crap, and people worrying so much about offending other people." https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/pop-culture-news/jerry-seinfeld-comments-extreme-left-pc-crap-response-rcna150008
  7. Mayor Adams and the police have put one name to the outsiders spinning up the students at Columbia. A video of Lisa Fithian. A professional 'called to arms by who'. https://www.foxnews.com/us/nypd-release-video-showing-professional-protest-consultant-columbia-university Mayor Adams: "These external actors are obviously not students, and their presence on campus is a violation of Columbia’s clearly stated policy," Adams said. "This group…is an outside agitator with a history of escalating a situation and trying to create chaos. It is our belief they are now actively co-opting what should be a peaceful gathering. This is to serve their own agenda. They are not here to promote peace or unity or allow a peaceful display of one's voice. They are here to create discord and divisiveness."
  8. https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/28/politics/cnn-poll-trump-biden-matchup/index.html Looking back, 55% of all Americans now say they see Trump’s presidency as a success, while 44% see it as a failure. Assessing Biden’s time in office so far, 61% say his presidency thus far has been a failure, while 39% say it’s been a success.
  9. Finally. They really need to go after the outsiders that are instigating some this stuff. And what about the faculty? Columbia University late Wednesday afternoon said it had begun suspending students who participated in anti-Israel protests and defied an order to clear encampments by 2 p.m. A university spokesperson condemned antisemitic language and calls for violence as “simply abhorrent.” He said that academic leaders have been negotiating with protesters since last Wednesday but have been unable to reach an agreement. “As the message indicated, the encampment, has created an unwelcoming environment for many of our Jewish students and faculty and a noisy distraction that interferes with the teaching, learning and preparing for final exams,” he said, adding that professors and students as well as “external actors” have contributed to creating a hostile environment. The university spokesman said that the students who agreed to leave the encampment by the deadline will be able to complete the semester, while those who did not will be placed on suspension and ineligible to complete a semester or graduate and restricted from all academic, residential, and recreational spaces.
  10. I would surround the building so no one could escape without being identified. Then get on a loud speaker or building intercom and say you have 1 hour to vacate the building. If you do not and you are a student you will be expelled for the semester, receive incomplete grades and will have to retake the classes next semester. If you are faculty, you will be placed on unpaid leave pending a hearing to see if we will retain you next semester. If you not affiliated with the university, hang tight. The swat team team will be in to get you in 1 hour. Then arrest them if they leave. If no one leaves, the university could clean house in one fell swoop. “The occupation of Siemens Hall and Nelson Hall East is causing ongoing inability to open other campus facilities,” a statement from the university read. “Since Monday night, protestors have attempted several times to break into multiple locked buildings with the intention of either locking themselves in, vandalizing, or stealing equipment. Vandalism and theft have continued across campus.” Officials said the campus will be closed through May 10, and work and academic instruction will take place remotely.
  11. And why not pile it on. I do feel for the kids a bit. They have been duped.
  12. I love it. I wonder if AOC remembers when parents at school board meetings were being labeled as domestic terrorists by some on the left. Maybe even the DOJ?
  13. A bias media spinning the story? Not surprising at all. Par for the course these days.
  14. Well UT leaders have some kahunas. Put up signs, scream, chat... all good. Throw stuff, burn stuff, destroy property, block others from getting where they should be able to go...not peaceful. Who are these other folks joining in? "The protesters tried to deliver on their stated intent to occupy campus," President Hartzell continued. "People not affiliated with UT joined them, and many ignored University officials’ continual pleas for restraint and to immediately disperse. The University did as we said we would do in the face of prohibited actions. We were prepared, with the necessary support to maintain campus operations and ensure the safety, well-being and learning environment for our more than 50,000 students."
  15. There are videos of protestors at either Columbia or NYU chanting 'We are Hamas'. Who knows if they were even students.
