    Went to the tax commissioner in Manhattan to register my car, listened to this guy try to figure out how he could spell "Huskers" in a way that wasn't already taken. Funny considering KSU was just down the street.

      I didn't realize Kansas placed counties on plates until I got one today. Also didn't know I'd have to have my vehicle inspected or that they hand you the plate right there at the counter, it all seemed very backward.

      It took me 7 trips to get my car plates. Combo of not knowing to get it inspected, it was a leased car and the leasing company was bought by another company. Yuck.

      I had trouble with the whole process, just like you did. This state is really screwy and I say that having registered my last vehicles in Alabama and then Georgia, not exactly the pictures of efficiency themselves. The VIN inspection was the dumbest part. I have the vehicle and I clearly have the title which has the VIN printed on it, having someone physically look at the damn thing to prove its not stolen is pointless.
