  1. I really need to get this off my chest. I am ASHAMED to call myself a Husker fan right now. I am not ashamed of the TEAM or the COACHING STAFF. I am ashamed of our FAN BASE. We are 6 games into a new era and the supposed "greatest fans in college football", want to fire everyone. It's pathetic if you ask me. I am amazed at all the D1 coaches, AD's, and Chancellors that we have posting on here. Man, if NU would just hire all of you, we would never lose a game, recruit, or donor. It would be the greatest thing since slice bread. GOOD GOD, get over yourselves. I am in my late 40's so I have seen the glory years and the hard times, the 70's and early 80's, so I know my Husker football. Thank god we didn't have social media back then, because TO would have left. I remember my father and grandfather using the phrase, "run two, pass one, punt", when talking about TO's offensive scheme. TO had a vision of what he wanted to do and over 20 YEARS of effort he got it done. It didn't happen in 6 games, it didn't happen in 3-5 years. It took 20 years for him to win the big game. Was he ever, 2-4? No, but he didn't have to deal with a college landscape that we have today. He had guys sitting the bench waiting their turn that would be considered 4* players today. Make no mistake, his teams were loaded with talent. We need to get a grip and let Riley do his thing. I remember losses like yesterday, last week, and week one. TO had them back in the day. We survived them then and we will survive them now. There is a quote on the stadium wall that reflects the Nebraska way, "Not the victory but the action, not the goal but the game, in the deed the glory", we used to believe in that quote. That is what made us the "greatest fans in college football". We have lost our way!!!
  2. The coaches never said that JS was going to carry the rock yesterday. They stated he would play on the kick return team. He played on the kick return team. The kid wanted to contribute to the team. He never would have come to NU if he was going to redshirt. Kids with his skills and potential don't redshirt. Some of you guys will never be satisfied.
  3. +1 10-15 years ago, I would have been a raving lunatic, like most of the posters on this board today. But, I have learned to support my team but keep it in perspective. Its a game, it does not effect my life in the least.
  4. Being committed to the coaching staff is being committed to the program. You can't have one without the other. Sorry, either your 100% in support or not not.
  5. OUTSTANDING!!! I was just saying something similar on another thread.
  6. There is no way we are going to make a coaching change this year. I was pretty pissed that we lost they way we did yesterday. But I was not embarrassed by it. However, after reading the posts on here last night and again today, I can say, "I AM ASHAMED TO BE A PART OF THIS FAN BASE", greatest fans in college football, my a@#!! Anyone that is calling for the coaches to be fired are morons, have you never made a mistake in your job or life. It was a game for god sakes.
  7. Not "weak a**" response. He just isn't "FREAKING LOSING HIS MIND" like the rest of the "GREATEST FANS IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL"!!! I was really pissed off after this loss, especially the way we lost it. Seriously, people need to get some perspective.
  8. Hide the ammo, OMG!!! The sky is not falling...... Bad game all around, the sun will come out tomorrow.
  9. I think it is a combination of WCO and an historically bad DC who is a buddy that causes the Callahan 2.0 comments. And: - Replaces a 9-3 coach winning over 70% of his games with no losing seasons at the only school that ever fired a 9-3 coach - Breaks multiple long time record winning streaks - Starts a dual threat QB built to run the previous system - Has fans vocally blaming woes on a bare cupboard - Has lifetime winning percentage between .480 and .520 - Winless when trailing at halftime There's probably more. And there will almost certainly be more in the future. Loss to Southern Miss first season? Haters will be haters. Your probably the same guy that was blasting "BO" for the blow out losses and sideline tirades. Get over it, he's gone and we have move on.
  10. My only question is, where was Toledo ranked. According to Bielema, he was playing 8 ranked teams so they must have been ranked right? No way he lost to an unranked team....
  11. Don't steal a bike while on campus. I hear that does go over well with the local PD.
  12. I agree the Blackshirts are the "Starters". If you lose your starting spot, you lose your shirt. Makes since to me. It creates a sense of accomplishment and competition for the players. Play well and dominate the opponent and you never need to worry about losing your "Blackshirt".
  13. Minnesota has been a tough out, because BP couldn't get out of his own way. Banker will adjust as needed. BO wouldn't make adjustments because he believed the scheme was sound, regardless if the guys were getting it or not. I believe the change in coaching makes this an easier game.
  14. I was speaking to the psyche of the team as it relates to getting off to a good start. Not to mention the National perception of the team. I think we can beat everyone in the West, having MSU at home makes it easier, but not a guarantee. To get a chance at winning the BIG conference the Wiscy and MSU games are the most important. I think Minny is just a flash in the pan. With better coaching we should be able to stop them. To change national perception of the team, Miami is the most important.
  15. What I am not understanding is why will the coaching change be a huge problem for NU but not for Wiscy? I get that Chryst was there before as the OC, but it is still a change. Without a doubt the best record will be between NU and Wiscy. Michigan will take a year or two to get back, maybe more. But I have to say that I think we are poised for a big year. So I will go with this order NU, Wiscy, and Michigan.
  16. I didn't see anything that was surprising in the article. I agree with most of it. I think the season comes down to 2 games, and I am not talking about Wiscy and MSU. I think it comes down to BYU and Miami. If we can win both those games, it sets up for a great year. On the flip side, if we lose both games we are in for a long year. I believe it will come down to confidence in the game plan and coach. So winning early will be key.
  17. If its a count down on the potential impact, how do they have Sam Foltz at 22? He has to be in the top 15!!
  18. I don't understand why everyone is wanting to block out the FCS team. If I recall, they have beat a few Power 5 schools recently. The biggest being Michigan. I think once we get to 16 team conferences then the FCS thing will go away. As for 9 conference games, how will that work out with the schedule. Will be have protected cross-over games again?
  19. Nice to have a well spoken man represent our team.
  20. I think we will go as far as our QB play. We are stacked in all other skill positions. If MR has the guts to pull a 2 year starter with a winning record because he is not getting it done, then we have a chance. If he don't, we are no better off. PERIOD!!!
